well, i got pics of this beast, i really really like the body, and the engine looks good *sorry no pic though. the interior is in brand new condition, though really ugly!! lol


for $1200 is the asking price, with a motor that wont start!! lol plus it clunked alot last time it ran, and had metal filings in the oil.

how hard would that be?? my regal engine is ALL good... well except for a crank sensor that i could change while its out...
but really, is it possible to drop a 3.8 in a lumina??

Would need a little rewiring but should be pretty painless as they're both w-bodies.

I'd get the wiring diagrams for a 3.4 Lumina and a 3.8 Regal and see what wires will need to be moved, what will need to be added (which really shouldn't be more than a couple) and what won't be used.

theyre both autos, and from the rpo codes i guess they both have 4t60s in them... so i know the transmission can stay (assuming its good @ 105k) lol then that also leads me to believe the transmission should bolt right on with the same pattern... now what about motor mounts? ive noticed on 3.1 motors they have an extra mount on the rad support mine doesnt have....

The mounts should be no problem as I believe the 3.8s mounting points interchange with the 3.4. You will likely want to keep the transmission as the 3.4 uses a 4T60E and your Regal uses a 4T60.

Looks pretty good, but I'd check underneath and see if you can get a peek under the cladding for rust though. I've seen many a solid "looking" car that's falling apart in the hidden areas.

ok, so i did some searching today, and i found a new motor for this thing... its only $900 and has a 3 month warranty, comes complete, and should just plug right in, as its another 3.4 DOHC from another Z34.

now, out of simple curiousity i phoned around a little more and asked about installing the motor... another $900. so rather than spend $3000 on a car, i was thinking of trying to do it myself and save $900. so that brings the total down to 2100. then if i talk the guy down another 500, im at 1600 then... with enough left over for a new windshield (seemed to be the only thing it needed)

once i phone the owner tonite im going to try jew him down a little on the price. basically im going to offer him $1000 less than he asked for, if he accepts or comes at me with a counter offer, something less than $800 or so, then ill probably take it, if not.... i might not be a w body owner for long!!
