Here's the official announcement:
As some of you may [or may not have] heard, Jay handed the keys of GM W-Body to me. This site was going to loose it's webhosting and go the way of wbodysource.com - just a faint memory (or lack thereof for some of you). Since I have my own webserver, I offered to host and run the site 100% out-of-pocket for me; for no other reason than I love this place and don't want to see it die.
There's going to be a few insignificant changes here and there, but for the most part this place is going to stay the same. The administration staff does a great job behind the scenes; and all those guys will still be on the administration staff unless they choose otherwise or just don't visit the site anymore.
If anyone has any problems, suggestions, comments - leave them in this thread. I'm going to try and make the changeover to the new server [and quite possibly new software] as seamless as possible for everyone.
FWIW, I've already put 6.5 hours of my life [and taken off about 2 years] into this place today (I've been getting some bugs ironed out for the changeover).
When it comes down to it, I love this site and want to see it around for years to come. This thread is for comments to the original post in Forum Guidelines, News and Announcements |

Please bear with me as a few things are going to change before the move.
I'm trying to cut the database down to a much more manageable size, along with removing custom stuff (themes, user titles) so the transition will be a bit smoother than it was for me last night when I setup the test forum.

Does anybody know how to get in touch with Fathead45 (the former owner of wbodysource)? I remember when this site launched, I mentioned to him over at wbodysource that he should try and merge his site with this one. Obviously nothing ever became of it. Wonder if he has any of those old articles/write-ups hiding out somewhere. Would be cool if this place could carry on with pages for those old articles.

Yeah there were! I remember there was a guy whose username was something like Turbo231 or something like that who had a website devoted to W-Body upgrades, maintenance procedures, and the like. I seem to remember there being some of his articles posted on WBS as well.

I found Fathead's contact info and sent him an email AND AIM message; I'm hoping he gets back to me. Doing a little research, it seems that all his websites went down - and he kinda just disappeared off the internet.

That would be schweet if he did! I dig the new setup! I can finally visit this site using Firefox (for some reason I couldn't stay logged in using Firefox on the old format.) |

Yeah, I think we have a suggestions thread around here somewhere? If not you can just comment in the problems thread.
I'm not completely done, there's some permissions that are screwed up and I'm not sure if the Super Moderators have enough "power" - but my goal was to have the forum online before the weekend
