On the day I sold my 1995 Cutlass Supreme to my friend Nathan, on my way home we passed a piece of property that had a Grand Prix on it that looked abandoned. A few weeks later, on my way home, I decided to stop and check it out. I could tell it had been parked for a while, and although it was in rough shape, I decided I wanted it.
I got the liscense plate number off of it, and tracked down the owners with it. After talking to them, they admitted they wanted to sell it. Today, I went and gave them half of the asking price, and next paycheck I am going to go give them the rest.
It is a 1992 Pontiac Grand Prix SE. It is in rough shape, but I think it has a lot of potential. I got some pics so you can see how rough it is, but I think you will all agree that the potential is there.
EXTERIOR:
Fog lights are broken, and it is missing the lower valance (of course):

Front PASSENGER fender has a dent in it. I MIGHT be able to just pop that one out:

Drivers side fender is messed up at the door opening, and the mirror assembly is broken totally:

The back looks okay from a distance, but up close you can tell that someone tried to break into the car:

One of the two places that someone took a prybar to the trunk to try to get into it:

The other place that they pried:

The taillights are in rough shape and need to be replaced:

First place that they messed up the body to get into the trunk:

Second place that they messed up the body to get into the trunk:

Third place that they messed up the body to get into the trunk:

On a positive note, the car has a sunroof (factory by the looks of it):

ENGINE:
According to the owners, they had overheated the car and either blew a headgasket, or warped the heads. They said the cooling fans also didn't work. After they parked it, and let it cool down, they were not able to get it to start again:

INTERIOR:
Underside of the dash needs to be put back together. Not sure why they were under there, but I think all the parts are still there:

The back seat needs to be put in. When the were not able to pry the trunk open, they ripped out the back seat to get into the trunk. Fortunantly, there was not damage done:

They have the title, and they say it is clear. The only issue is that they lost the keys to the car. Fortunantly, the car is unlocked. I went to the parts store today and bought a new ignition cylinder for it. I am going to try to get the car running, and then just drive it home to check it out.
Also, the rear passenger tire is flat.
