Decided to go wash my car today and then head to a local park and take some pictures since the weather was nice. Ran into a friend of mine at the car wash and he tagged along. We took some pictures of my car and his ('93 Ford Tempo), I tried doing some kind of different angles like Jake does. Tell me what you think:

hah I make fun of him for it, and he wants a new car, but seriously he takes insanely good care of it. He's more OCD than I am. Despite the tacky crap on the outside the inside looks absolutely mint, it runs like a brand new car, and he cleans it more frequently than i clean mine... which is a lot

That's amazing considering Tempos have been extinct around here for at least 10 years now!  I don't know of anybody who owned one since new who said it lasted more than 6 or 7 years (I also don't know anybody that has any kind words for them either!)  They say the Pinto was a horrible car, but the Tempo had to rank right up there with it!

Fun little fact:  In northern Minnesota, they sold an AWD Tempo briefly in 1989.  I knew a guy who had one and made him put it up on jack stands to prove to me that it had AWD.  Sure as shit, all 4 wheels spun!

Yeah, most Tempos I see are beat to hell, but his isn't. He's owned the car since before he got his license, I think 4 or 5 years now. I think the previous owner must have been a little old lady or something, he bought it with low miles and has taken good care of it. The only thing really wrong with it is the paint is starting to go on the trunk, it doesn't have a grille and the hood is banged up (that was from an impact with a deer a while ago, he hasn't gotten around to fixing it yet, it still passes inspection, so what's the hurry?).

ODD fact. even though the tempo was offered with a 3.0 v6 and a 5 speed, the awd was ALWAYS only a 2.3 hsc 4cyl

didnt the AWD have a switch on the dash to turn it on/off? or was that the aerostar?
