Last Sunday I take my car out to the cruise and some lady in a black grand am rear ends me. That was the first time I'd probably driven my car in about two weeks. The tail light broke, the reverse bar broke, the side marker light broke, and my license plate has a nice big dent in it. I took off the bumper cover and tail lights. I will post pics of that stuff tomorrow. You will be able to see the impact bar. Doesn't go to the body shop until next Monday. So its just been sitting in my garage for the past week. I threw a car cover on, as its depressing to look at.

I cannot sue. I live in Michigan and its a no fault state. I collected the insurance money and its more than enough to fix it and I am stuffing some of that money in my pocket.

No haven't go it. I got a quote for 1500 bucks, but its only going to cost like 700 to get it fixed. The checks in the mail. So not too much longer. It will be 2 weeks before it goes to the shop. Post Merge: August 09, 2010, 08:14:37 PM
Not Sunday as in yesterday, but Aug 1.

Ya pretty much. The thing I hate about no fault the most is the fact you cannot sue for damages to get a legal settlement. I was at a red light when I got hit and I had a witness. So I was able to prove she was the at fault driver and she got a ticket for failure to stop at a red light. Because of that I didn't have to make a claim through my insurance company. Here is what it looks like with the bumper cover off. My trunk doesn't even line up it's not even close. I still need to find a left taillight. Those lip taillights are hard to find. I need a left side marker too. My old bumper is going to be repainted. It needs a little bit of body work, but it will look like brand new when it is done. Post Merge: August 10, 2010, 06:28:59 PM
I took off the body cladding. I was very happy becuase there is no rust there. I removed the lip that goes around the wheel well so my father could start the body work. I can't wait to get this finished. My car is going to look great.

I sanded down the bumper and it need a little bit of body work. I dropped it off this morning at the body shop. Here is a picture of my car up on the frame puller.

ah yea, we are a no fault state too, but when dealing directly with your insurance, makes it a bit easier, because before hand it was them interrogating you about this and that to just ok here's a check!

The shop pulled the frame and got the trunk lid aligned and fixed the muffler. I think I might get it back by next Monday.

I got really lucky and found some mint tail lights from a wrecked vert with 50k some miles and they were free.

Why would you post a pic of them in the wrapper? That's just not fair!

My dads friend gave them to me. He said they have been sitting like that for 5+ years.
