personally i think that is way too big unless you step-up to a 3x00 top end.  that thing will flow so much air the GEN-II topend won't be able to handle it.  can you say compressor surge?  i'm going to guess that you will have a hard time controlling boost.

keep the GT2871R and mod something else, or go with something like a T3/T04E 50-trim or 57-trim with a stage-III .63 A/R (or .82 A/R if you can get it).

good plan!  whatever it takes to get that GEN-II topend to breathe better and the new turbo will love it!  i guess i wasn't taking into account the supporting mods you just listed.

that car is going to kick some ass soon....as if it doesn't already!

just a question - i'm assuming you are going to have a custom crossover made considering the required T3 flange and the external wastegate (or are you just modifying the current crossover pipe?) - are you going to fab up some headers or nice log manifolds or stick with the stock TGP exhaust manifolds?

thanks..

also for got to mention 62mm TB will also be installed/

im going to stick with the stock exhaust manifolds just port them out a little and modify the x-over for a t3 exit. after the turbo will be 3" mandrel bent piping, most likely just single exhaust and a fake ip on the other side

as i said above im still al little weary on the rest of the bottom end details

suggestions for rods ect are greatly appreciated

also on a side note, i know this build is gunna cost me about 3k bucks and im ok with that

i am not dismantling my stock motor as it still seems to be hodling up great. i have all the spare parts to make the build upthat are tgp specific.

after reading all about stock rods on both v6z24 and 60*V6 forums i strongly feel that they are more than strong enough to handle some serious power.  i have a really hard time believing the rod itself was to blame in Dave's car unless he just happned to have one in there that was flawed from the factory.
