No there a 1 ton. Thats it too, they used it on motor home chassis too. i would NEVER want to drive one of those turds. Imagine that pitiful 22R hauling a motor home chassis or lots of wieght, even thier 3.0 V6 is gutless for that application.

It actually looks like it may be a retired U-Haul.

The orange rectangle of paint in the middle of the bumper is what really makes me wonder.

Its guaranteed to be a uhaul truck!

V6 and 1 ton dont go together. Inlike 6 Turbo Diesel and one ton do. theres no way that thing has a 1 ton chassis under it!! i know they used to be motor homes but look at the width of it. dualies dont mean 1ton!!

thats a toyota 1ton.

its just WAY too small to weigh enough to be classified as a 1ton is all im saying. theres 1ton trucks WIHOUT duallies.

Hmmmmmm.  Cue dramatic music. ;D

A dually conversion would probably necessitate a V8 swap (well, if the dually conversion was to be more than just for show.)  Think anybody's ever stuffed a big block in an S-Dime?  cool

Yeah it's a 1-ton. The frame on that Toyota is more than twice the size of the one on my S15. It's 100% a used U-Haul. They just vinyl wrapped the whole truck, so up close you can still see all the U-Haul badging. I'm thinking about peeling the vinyl wrap off so I can peel the U-Haul vinyl off and put on some of my own biggrin

Here's some info about the 4th gen HiLux 1-ton:
"1 Ton Reg. Cab Long Bed 2WD: 61.5 in (1562 mm)" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_Hilux
"10' 1989-1990 Toyota 1 Ton truck" http://www.uhaul.com/trucksales/model_spec.aspx?id=TM
"City: 16 mpg - Highway: 23 mpg" http://fueleconomydb.com/specs/1989/TOYOTA/1-TON%2520TRUCK%25202WD
I want a freaking lift gate! http://treasure.craigslist.org/cto/1413211661.html

The V6 in that truck isn't bad either. I figured it was going to be a freaking DOG like my S-15. It will actually out-accelerate my Lumina when it's unloaded. I had it fully loaded down the other day with so much shit in the back that It was packed to the roof and the back door. It had no problem doing 70 uphill on the interstate. We'll see how it does loaded down and pulling my truck on a trailer biggrin

Those S-10's are freaking cool. I've always loved dually S10's that are done right. All of those are 1/2 tons though.

MAKE IT SAY "U-MAUL" hahahahahahaha

-supposidly that concept tundra i posted was a real 1 ton truck too. diesel engine and all. weather or not thats true i dont know. (one of my toyota nut friends told me) <- theres a quote for the board. haha
either way, it cant be that bad of a motor, its built to haul shit filled up to the roof, so empty it makes sense that it could kick some ass. its like those people that take crashed minivans and use the engines in cars like ours. why not??
