Here's something i had forgotten to mention...just for you 94-96 GP dudes...non broken console lid! w00!
Oh shut up. Interior looks pretty much identical to mine. I kind of attempted a two tone by painting the trim on the dash a glossy black and putting in black floormats. I'm also surprised you don't have a broken temperature control knob. Mine was broken when I got it, got a new replacement one off the Dorman HELP! board at work. I'd say a good 95% of the GPs I've seen online had a broken knob.

oh yea, all the temp knobs are good as well as the CD player equalizer buttons... Most of them do have broken knobs. Mady's 02 SE recently acquired a broken one I think i was looking at the painting scheme. I tried painting the dash parts of the other 96 GTP i had that was black, and that rubberized shit just screwed everything up, i could not for the life of me figure out a way to get it all off. I think someone pretty recently posted a method that was successful for him

ya, it did initially come out pretty good, mine was the same then just scratched STUPID easily. If it comes down to it i may have to try discostudd's method, mine isn't too scratched up right now, but if it starts peeling off...
And fortunately my CD player still works perfectly, there's been one or two times where i THOUGHT it may have skipped...but coulda just been a scratched up cd too, haha. I just have a blown rear speaker that sounds like asshole if ANY Of the first 3 frequencies on the EQ are turned up at all...c'mooooooooooon tax return!

HAH! Same. Driver's Side? I miss the bass. I'm not the average teenage ricer bass banger asshole, but I do like a little bit of bass. Right now I have none thanks to that effing speaker.

LOL yea driver side rear. I still have my subs sitting in the TGP, i may put them in the GTP...two 10" kenwoods hooked up to a 1500 watt rockford amp, they pounded hard when they needed too...but sounded really good down lower as well, for just listening to music with a touch of kick. I'm a big fan of kenwood products...had my 08 Tiburon GT fully outfitted with kenwood through and through other than that RF amp, there were a total of 8 Kenwood speakers, kenwood deck, then 2 kenwood subs and RF amp. One HELL of a system and very budgetable. I'm thinking with the money i should be getting back this year...going to go with some infinity's!

There's a lot of stuff I wanna do to my car. Don't know if and when I'll be able to do it. I'm only 17 and was laid off from my job at a local auto parts store on December 31st. I have a little over $300 in my checking account right now, and most of that will be going to my mechanic when the car goes into the shop on Wednesday (New tires and ball joints, already have the parts, just have to pay labor).
As soon as I can afford it, I'm upgrading the headlights to halogen capsules with the eurolamps kit. Then LED tails and turns, then maybe upgrading the stereo. I want to sometime down the road upgrade to a supercharged 3800 Series II from my 3100 and also get a new paint job, but I don't know when I could ever afford that.

i just turned 22, and if you look at most of the other forums i'm on, i've been around for a while doing stuff to my GP's ;-) I started out working at a few automotive stores as well. Ball joints are a PITA....when you have to do them on the side of the road...the passenger one busted on the TGP early last year, HAH, they've got big'ol rivets in'em.
If you're mechanically inclined at ALL, i would suggest doing a LOT of your own work. Make a couple mechanic buddies at your job and just start wrenching on shit. That's how i started...and the past few years, i've been senior/lead mechanic for a few different shops, and now I manage and run one ;-)

My mechanic is a friend. He was one of the customers we had before my store closed down, and he was one of the only ones I'd trust to work on my car (and the only one I trust that charges a reasonable price). I've saved labor where I can, my dad replaced my turn signal switch, my brother and I replaced the passenger side tie rod end, the rear brakes and rotors, and the coolant temperature sensor ourselves, and I replaced my battery myself on Saturday (not the easiest car to replace a battery in ). I also change my own oil. It has so far gone to the garage to get the rear struts replaced, and is going to get the tires and ball joints done (plus an alignment) on Wednesday. Main reasons for that is because I don't have a tire machine at home, and I'm not the most experienced mechanic and my dad who was a mechanic says that balljoints are a pain in the ass and not worth doing yourself. Plus its been below freezing for like the past 3 weeks. But anyway, I LOVED my job at the local auto parts store. My dad was the store manager, I worked weekends as a counterman and delivery driver. The owners decided to close the store at the end of the year. So now me, my dad, and my mom are all laid off. I might still work for the company at one of their other stores, but it won't be for a few more weeks if I do. Post Merge: January 11, 2010, 08:13:44 PM
Can I do a plug for my mechanic? . For anyone in Pittsburgh, my mechanic is Park Circle Motors at the intersection of Dohrman and Singer Avenue in McKees Rocks, PA.

oh okay, then ya that works. And yep, like i said, the lowers are a pain in the ass. Even the press in ones, unless you at least have the C-clamp with all the adapters you won't accomplish much. And WTF? no tire machine!? They're only like $8,000-14,000 new for a good one! LOL! Yea, that one's obvious/understandable, as well as alignments. Though I'm not going to say i haven't done some alignments with strings in the past few years...ha!

Bah. White is boring. I love dark green but don't really like it on a car. I want to paint my car a nice deep red, perhaps a shade or two darker than candy apple red. Then do a two tone black and red interior... with red accent lighting, etc. Most of the cars my family has had in my life have been white and I'm sick of white cars! (right now we have a WHITE '89 Skyhawk, a WHITE and blue '89 E150, and a WHITE '04 Cavalier)
Post Merge: January 12, 2010, 06:35:04 PM That's not to say a white GP doesn't look good, it does. Yours does. It just wouldn't be my first choice of color.
