Heres my ride, 1992 Pontiac Grand Prix SE coupe. It's been through alot since I first got it and before I got it. Been in a few wrecks and been restored this is the final build into it (under my possesion)

7/28/08

A friend has been helping me do some work to my car.  So far we have fixed the AC blower, now it just needs to be recharged.  We have put in Leather seats from a Cutlass Supreme with the rear seat being the fold down one, and fixed the cooling system problem.  We adjusted the shift point lower to keep in the power band.

8/16/2008

these 1st few are of my STB that I installed

next is the 3100 style serpentine belt cover

Next few are of my Keyless entry stuff I upgraded on my car, went from a non-working 1 plug reciever to a 2 plug reciever

Next up are my Rockford Fosgate component speakers these happen to be my 6.5' in the doors

heres a few of my leather shifter handle and my leather shifter boot along with my lowering job on my shifter

9/1/2008

HUD system, my car was prewired for it so it was really easy to install

Reapolstered visors/vanity mirrors

Also fixed the interior lighting on my car so it works like it should. annd replaced the old messed up headlight switch that was the issue behind it.

9/7/2008

3100 style motor mounts came off a newer Lumina

Added in the Drivers side and passanger side kick panels, when I bought the car never had them in there

This last thing is a little security feature that I added in

What it does is when you have it set to lock the only way you would be able to access the trunk is by the key, but once set to unlock the remote release button and the keyless entry remote work, Thanks goes out to Taylor for the info on this one.

9/24/2008

Went junkyarding with Taylor and found this spoiler not being a fan of huge shopping cart style spoilers I went with a more low profile look. At first I was skepticle about it but once I seen it on the car it looked great.

Here it is not bolted down

10/1/2008

Spoiler Bolted down finally

10/4/2008

Upgraded the Chime Moduleto add in the Automatic Door locks feature and the chime feature that chimes when the turn signal is on after a certain distance

Replaced the Keylock cylinder, I had a very bad issue of being able to remove my key from the ignition even when the car was running or in acc

replaced my Center console with one from a 1995 Cutless Supreme

Added a FE3 badge to the exterior (My Grand Prix IS FE3)

10/5/2008

Pulled the motor to replace the oil pump

10/6/2008

New exhaust welded and bolted in

11/23/2008

What it practically looks like now

11/29/2008

Went junkyarding and picked up some 1990 Cutlass Supreme Mirrors

12/29/2008

Replaced my crappy old rear speaker deck cover with one from a 95' GP

Heres a few pics of my 94+ Dash Parts I recently picked up for the dash swap, the only major component I lack now is the steering column

A while back I also upgraded my Low/High beams with Sylvania Silver Star Ultra 9006/9005 bulbs.

Also Picked up a new emblem off another Pontiac I found at Pull-A-Part, chrome isnt really my calling but on black it doesnt look half bad.

I finally found a foglight that resembles the stock foglight size for 91-93, soon to get Sylvania Silver Star H3 Bulbs

It wasnt bad, the pins between the are the same so i could of used the newer style as a DIRECT replacement if mine went out. As for wiring in the automatic not complicated did have Taylors help on that one all the wires that needed to be tapped in were right by the electrical center, The only wire that was not wired in was the orange/black wire or it would have made the locks directly lock when the car went into gear instead of locking at 10MPH

I have one I'm going to put in my truck (well, a truck if I can't get the title straightened out on this one) soon along with the all window down module.

I'm not one to criticize other people's cars, but honestly what the heck is goin' on with that grille??

Otherwise looks sweet, that spoiler is a little different.  Love the CS stuff in the interior.

Your lack of loyalty towards to the x-laces is appauling, just as I was going to compliment the x-laces you got rid of them.

Oh well.

Here's a tidbit for you.  Did you know that prior to 1995, all Grand Prix's with B4U body kit and x-laces had rims that matched the interior colours??  Tan = Gold x-laces and grey = Silver x-laces.  If I lived closer, I might be harassing you endlessly about buying the rims.

BTW - I just got another one of those steering wheel covers, mine are both mint, but I'm in love with those fake leather covers, so I've just bought my third one, I'm pretty sure ours are the same, I couldn't buy anything different if I forced myself.

The Generation I 3.1L V6 was an astonishing feat of engineering as it had the best of both worlds:

The power of a 4-cylinder, yet the fuel economy of a V8.

Let me know how that turns out, sounds like an interesting project.

That was the aftermath from one of the wrecks it was in, Haven?t been able to find any stock grilles for this car yet, I didn?t want anything huge but something more low profile and that spoiler is what I came across, as far as I know I?m the only one to have used that particular spoiler. I just got sick of the x-lace rims they were such a PITA to keep clean, the torque star rims are a lot easier to keep clean and they are a more subtle look at least IMO. I noticed that once before but never made the connection on it since all the tan interior cars never had the x-laces on when ever I seen them sitting in the yards. I love my steering wheel cover that I got, its really comfortable any other steering wheel covers I have owned in this car just plain out sucks, my only regret is finding one in black but the graphite one I have now, I can live with it.

Unfortunately everyone nicknames the rims, and not every name is consistent for Grand Prix's:

These are torque stars:

Obvious reason, they look kind of like they've been over torqued and the spokes twisted.

Sawblades = most of the cheap 1st gen coupe rims

X-laces = what you used to have.

1st-gen star-spoke rims is what I would call those, but there's really not a good well-known nickname.

2nd gen X-laces, (the ones with the swirl effect)

Fat-five, the name of the 2nd gen rims that look most similar to the ones in your pic.

Snow-flake, the ones with the three spokes with the minor little spokes coming out of them.

There's Hi-Po and regular for most.

The X-laces allow for a much wider tire and also stretch a 225 wider since they're 8" wide and hence are a performance thing as well as an appearance preference.  Your's would look pretty bad-ass blacked out with just the silver lip showing.

Now that you mentioned it that was one of my plans for after I had my car repainted (doing a 2-tone job with the top half black and everything B4U and down will be silver with the lines on the side triming and bumpers filled in black) then on top of that the rims I currently have will be cleaned up, stripped, and then painted black with a silver lip and fill in the part that says "PONTIAC" silver to go with the B4U/car color scheme

I think that his old crosslaces are going to go on my green car.  I am thinking about painting them black with a silver lip, then make a custom emblem for the center cap.

We will decide on who gets what when he gets back down here.  Part of me would like to put those Grand Prix 5-spokes back on the green car.  That car looked really good with them.

Where did you get that trunk security switch from??  What's involved in hooking that up?
