I have not ripped the whole engine down yet but i have a theory about what let go.

Wasn't driving like a jackass ether.... sad

Connecting rod broke ether the cap or one of the bolts, it started to tick and i thought it was a lifter at first but it got really bad after a few more miles.

I was 500 kms from home when it happened so i drovr it as far as i could home and it blew as you see it there about 180kms from home.

the turbo lived though it it looks like which is good but the rest of the motor less the TB and intakes are write offs.

gives me something to do this winter i guess...... roll

hope you can get that thing back on the road soon enough Dave!  that totally sucks about what happened sad

i sure hope my 240,000 mile Turbo 3.1 survives the trip to VA this month *knocks on wood*  i think it will though - i'm gonna turn the boost way down for the trip just in case i run into a Z28 on I-70 and get the temptation hehehe.

did i mention, I LOVE ThAt CAR!!...it was one of the first cutty's i ever saw on w-body...and i have been obsessed with it ever since!...good luck on getting that engine fixed...and, if you ever get soo pissed that you wanna sell it...well, PM ME!
