Random member quote: People say the mini cooper is fast, and handles amazing. I asked a girl why she loved hers.  Her response was "it’s small, and cute, and I can fit everything in it...  just like my purse".  It was at that point I felt my nuts crawl up inside my body and refuse to come back out.

So i decided two weeks ago to do a tune up on my car. Got the plugs cjanged no problem, but got in a fight with two of the back three plug wires. I am almost 100% positive i damaged a line back there, seeing as i was kneeling on the engine itself trying to get those wires out. (6'5 guy kneeling on an engine - funny sight). now the engine has to get to a certain rpm before it starts to really accelerate. what rpm that is idk digital dash only tells me how fast i'm going in kph. engine is a 3800 with 53k miles on it if that helps.

sounds like time for the starting fluid trick.  with the engine running (and cold preferably - starting fluid is extremely volatile and i'd never spray it at a hot engine) spray quick blasts at the vacuum lines one at a time and if the engine picks up rpm or smooths out considerably you've found the broken line

LOL! Becarefull, I seen a guy lose his facial hair attempting this on a warm engine. I have to admit though it was funny shit.

Yep, ether works great when your out 4 wheeling and blow a tire off the bead. Done it many times.

ok its not a vacuum leak. however, my mechanic father and i have narrowed it down to the steering. so its either the pump or rack, which one we don't know.

the computer shorted itself out, took out an O2 sensor and the maf as well as the calibrator and gave me transmission issues and  caused a vibration as well. came to 5something, but i was charged for only 2 of the 12 hours of labor
