Aren't all W-Body 5-speed questions serious?

I recently had my MG2 transmission rebuilt at a pretty reputable shop in July.  Just last week I brought it to my family mechanic to have it installed back in my Cutlass International.  He also replaced the CV axles, tie rod ends and ball joints.  The car is essentially new from the flywheel forward now.

So my mechanic gets the car on the ground and starts to roll it back out of the bay and into the parking lot at his shop, and it locks up in Neutral.  It rolls about 3 feet and stops, in Neutral.  He seems to think it's a problem with the differential, maybe a pin getting loose around the spider gear.  With all those new parts in place, I think he might be right.

Do you guys have any ideas?

sounds believable. if it's truly in neutral, it's not the trans itself, it has to be the axle portion of the transaxle.

I'm having my transmission guy pick the car up this week.  Hopefully it's something simple like a CV Axle, but they are brand new remans from NAPA.  I think they source their CV axles from Cardone.

It doesn't makes much sense, but I guess anything is possible.  Maybe I should have him take a second look at those axles before he starts pulling the transmission apart.  Thanks!
