i have herd those jiffy places keep the force flushers.....which has givin transmission flushes a bad name. My teachers are both amazing at school and have been in the field as technicans for 20-30+ years, and we just got through automatic transmissions, and i too was as weary as you, but they assured me it cant hurt a transmission Unless somthing is already wrong with the trans, and if you really think about whats in a transmission, no fluid exchange is going to kill anything except burned/glazed up or excessivly worn bands or friction discs in the clutch packs (too slick causes slippage, causing wear and heat buildup, further glazing the friction material and ultamiatly ruining the trans), but they would have caused failure in short order anyway.

I must ask, did your wifes transmission get serviced ever 30-50 thousand miles, or what this the very first its been changed?

I have the service records since new and it had been changed every 1-1.5 years and then I did it just after I got it. Fluid was nice and red, but I did it anyway because I usually change it anyway.

It was red before she took it in, I checked it a week beforehand. She was told it was black. What the bastards did was dip it in some old oil or something and showed it to her.

It's turning brown now...And third gear is almost non-existent. Just goes from 2nd to 4th.

Not worth the fuss to go through for them to replace the transmission as they lied to her about it needing flushed, they will lie about doing damage. I'll just get another trans and put it in myself.
