rangers are tougher to kill than s10s and sonomas in my experience. and as for dodge? well im not sure about the new trucks, but i know the old ones (except for the 5.7 diesel) are junk.

My mom has a 1989 S15 that we've had since brand new. 450,000 miles on the original NEVER TOUCHED 2.5.

It must have the revised timing chain set (I do believe 89 was the year they changed the timing set on the 'Dukes from composite gears to a normal chain set.) If it had the composite timing gear set, it would've broken before 150k (and probably every 150k thereafter!)

Well to update this... I got my Toyota running after a few months of it sitting dead (thank you g/f for kicking the computer and unplugging the harness - who ever checked to see if their ECU is plugged in. I know I didn't).
Well my original thought was the fuel filter. I replaced that and still no dice. My second thought was the fuel pump or regulator. I ruled out the fuel pump because I could hear gas circulating past the regulator, so I ruled that out too (but could never get a pressure check). Well now I've moved the car to my garage so I can start working on it (I had it parked in my landlord's field because I was too pissed off to even look at it).
So yesterday I ran a fuel pressure test on it, and only got 5PSI at the fuel rail. I'm going to say it's confirmed that the fuel pump is bad or at least the pump screen is clogged. I really hate to drop the tank because of the rust I'm going to have to deal with. I know the filler neck NEEDS to be replaced, and the lines are going to have to be replaced also. I can only imagine what the straps, blots and tank look like.
If anyone can get me a filler neck for cheap (everywhere thinks they're worth $50+ for a F'n hose), let me know! The filler neck on my parts car is rusted bad - so I can't use that. I'd pull the pump and tank out of that car too, but the pumps are cheap so not really worth the trouble.
