Ok... so I need a couple things for my next upcoming 3.4...
I need an EGR that will work better then factory. It needs to work with the stock computer. Is there a smaller, more effecient one for the ODB I GM style? The facotry size is far to large... plus I need it for emitions, and I'm sick of running around scarred thinking cops are gonna pull me over and jack my shit...
It doesn't need to fit on the stock flange, I'm looking to fabricate... I also have ALOT of Junk yards at my disposal.
I do have the factory Air system, and I might install it but bypass it so its at last there for a visual.

I've seen some small EGR's on some 88 and 89 2.8 GP's in my local Jy's, however, I don't know if one from a 2.8 could be fabricated to fit a 3.4.

What do you mean next upcoming 3.4? You have something planned? Also, why won't the stock EGR work? Is it because you have the 96 intakes? I would start looking at other GM vehicles. IIRC-2.8/3.1 had a Vacuum EGR until 90 or 91 so he would have to fab something like that up.

nothing to help.
they passed a law to get rid of emissions testing here at the end of the year, so ima take the egr and air off of mine and tell the ses indicator to fvck off with my powrtuner.

Theres a posibility... Anyway. The stock EGR interfears with the 96 intake and intake arm. Also, I would rather find on that is as simple as plug and play into the factory harness. Do all GM ODB I cars have the same female plug? I should prolly hit the yard up myself...huh? I also want a small one for a low profile so it will tuck up and almost hide. those damn things are ugly. I will definatly modify my own bracket for the EGR to mount to... I'm sick of manifolds. Cams are a waste of time with those.

the simple answer is no, all obd1 gm's do not share the same plug.
there are a vast amount of different egr's and as far as i know the digital one used on these motors is specific to 3.1/3.4 - never seen a obd1 3800 to know. but they are very different and your computer would get confused and it would probably make emissions worse.
i think i have to pass emissions one time before they get rid of the program here. they got rid of it for all of ohio but greater cleveland last year, and we're only under contract to the program till the end of 08 to the testing company. all the studies point to it being useless and everything i hear/read leads to it being gone for 09. which is when my next test would be after my initial one when i put the car on the road next year..... so as long as i can get it to pass one time(or get the "you failed 3 times but spent $300 in emissions repairs and we get to do a visual and make sure nothing is gone - ie throw an egr over my blockoff plate and run a fake line down to the exhaust - i'm good to go) - all bets will be off as for what i can do to it.

thanks pat.... I guess I should just swap a stock motor into this thing... drive it down to the ref... and then swap my motor back into it. If I do that... I'm set to do what ever the fuck I want to the engine as long as it passes the sniffer.

Here's an idea. Connect the EGR to a vacuum port on the TB with some metal tubing and then you can hide the EGR valve under the intake arm.

Well, you can't the stock 96 intake arm with the built in EGR port?
OBD1 3800 and 3300 have the same EGR as 60*'s. They also have a plastic cover that goes over them to conceal them a little bit.
