just letting every1 know i did a little beta testing and i have 2 good things to say.

1. mms headers do in fact fit 1st gen w-bodies quite well i might add. all i had to do to make them fit was remove the heatshield. 2 catches though. he only does them for 96-97 heads and they are kinda pricey although i did not pay full price for being a beta tester cool.

2. the neutrally balanced 282 flywheel for the 88 fiero application does in fact interchange with the 284 flywheel. so there is an aluminum flywheel out there. just make sure it is neutrally balanced. i purchased mine from the fierostore,

this is very good info about the headers...

a couple questions

How is the fit and finish on the headers? Aaron grade or QTP grade?

Do you have pictures?

And most importantly, Was this an auto or manual car?

they are made by a company called milzymotorsports. they are good but not as good a workmanship as say hooker supercomps or anything done by a large company.

they are not equal length or anything b/c it would take some rediculous modification to get them to fir then.

if you look up there you will see me talking about an aluminum flywheel which would imply i have a manual tranny but i think mike may have sold another set to a 1st gen guy rocking an auto. i can't say for sure though.

only think is they are sloooow to make them. i had to wait about 2 months and some change for mine.

if you look in the show off your ride section, i have a pic of the front header in there but here is a pick after i got them out of the box:

see that where this comes into play...

QTP is an extremely high Quality product for LT's on F-Body's...

Aaron is the other extreme...

i'm hoping to make a set of headers some day, im just not sure what to use for a flange besides cutting off the stock manis.  its on my list after newer uim/lim, brake upgrades, and replacing some interior parts.  theres no way i can swing a grand for headers.  if aaron can do it, i can.

flanges you say.  it has been a while but there is a company that sells laser cut flanges for the dohc.  i remember them being on ebay for $3x.xx.

hmm unfortunately they are only for 96-97 heads but i have some dissassembled ones i can sell you cheap wink

FYI.

The headers MIGHT NOT FIT on the older GEN 1.

I had some that fit PERFECTLY on my 1996 Grand Prix, but they would not work on my 1988 Cutlass Supreme.

Look at your STOCK CATALITIC CONVERTER.  If you have the TRAPEZOID converter that is kinda close to the engine, then they will fit.  If you have the OVAL CONVERTER that is further back, then it will not fit.

I think it is 1994 they changed it so they will work in 1994 cars, but not the older ones without modifying either the headers or the firewall.

Not everything is 100% interchangeable between the W-bodies.  I can NOT use the newer larger brake booster on my 1988.  It does not fit.  I also can not do the rear brake upgrade to my 1988.  The lines are totally different and would require completely custom lines.

interesting...

i wouldnt shell out that much, so id make my own so that wouldnt be a big deal.  i took the cat out cuz it was bad, but i think it was the oval kind.

thats weird about the rear brakes.  ive only done it on a 92 Z34 and a 90? TGP

1988 had some different things done too it.  You know how on the REAR BRAKES, the parking brake cables are different for each side?  One side has a loop that hooks onto it, and the other has a spring clip?  On my 1988, they are BOTH the spring clips.

I also have a FACTORY sound deadener SPRAYED onto my firewall that has been painted over.  If I want to use the bigger booster, I will have to scrape it all of and repaint the firewall.
