another apartment parking lot engine pull!

and so it begins.  first thing i'm doing is cleaning the hell out of the engine and the engine bay of course.  i have alot of stuff to order before the engine goes back in.  the expensive stuff will be the cam, headers and intercooler, ZZP billet fuel logs, the DHP Powertuner and i still need a laptop.  this is likely going to be a winter project but that's ok; i have another car to drive anyway.  i wish i could buy a Whipple but something that expensive is just going to have to wait until next year.  a Torsen LSD would sure be nice to have too.  i'm hoping i can run a 3.0" pulley while being completely KR free with the M90 and mods listed above (and tuning of course).  i am shooting for 350whp...eventually.  i don't even care about what it runs at the track.  maybe if there was a track here that wasn't 4hrs round trip (not to mention at an elevation of 5000ft).  i just want to build a car that will hold its own with something like a mildly modded LS2 GTO.

i have new KYB AGX adjustable struts, new KYB strut mounts, new SSC GEN-II lowering springs, and new ZZP poly offset dogbone square mounts here waiting to go on but at this point i'm probably not going to install that stuff until next spring lol.  i'm planning on the F-body 12" front brakes and GMPP suspension kit as well.  oh and my new JMB FWI should be here tonight or tomarrow woot!  not like i'll be able to use it anytime soon but it's always cool getting new parts in the mail biggrin  anyways, i'm hoping to be getting the cam next, along with 105# valve springs, double roller timing chain set & tensioner and a ZZP machined intake (for intercooler).  after that is all installed i'll be getting the headers and a few other things like MPS, new water pump, belt tensioners, Magnecor KV85 wires, solid lower motor mount and solid GTP trans mount, and a new oil pan.

anyways i'll be posting pics of my progress.  this obviously isn't going to happen overnight but should be interesting to see it come along.

That's awsome.  I never joined on ClubGP (or related Gen II forums) so it will be cool to see a major project in the works with pictures and all! smile

I hope to EVENTUALLY do something to the Impala, but I probably woun't mod it enough for the need to pull the engine out, since I'd really like to get a Vette someday, after a house.. need money lol.

yes it was!  I'll have to remember to keep the rear exhaust manifold off until the engine is back in the car for that bolt. smile
I'm going to help my friend start to put the engine back together next thurs.

Have fun with all that, man!  That'll kick ass if you can get that Regal to hang with LS2 GTO's...

Ya he sent me a text about it haha.  I haven't got a good race with him yet since the lebaron trans is kinda fucked.

i'm going to try to get the engine on the stand tomarrow and take a bunch of pics.  i probably won't be doing too much disassembly until the cam actually gets here.  i talked with a guy that works at the local machine shop about installing a cam and he convinced me i could handle it myself no problem.  progress is going to be a little slow for a bit since i'm buying another 282 for my Cutlass on Monday.  in the meantime most of the work on the Regal is going to be cleaning and prep.
