well the guys on regalgs.org swear i can do it without pulling the engine or unbolting the trans/TQ converter bolts and raising the engine so i'll just have to try it again. i think if i pull the passenger side CV axle that will give me enough room to get at least two of the three bolts in. anyways, my KYB AGX struts, GEN-II SSC springs, offset poly dogbone bushings, the solid motor mount and the solid GTP trans mount are here waiting to go in i got an email from the place that i ordered the struts and strut mounts from so the KYB strut mounts should be here soon. unfortunately i can't work on the car until the week after next, but at least i have my brother's Spirit R/T to drive in the meantime. next paycheck i'll be ordering some more stuff....i'm just not sure if it will go to the Regal or i might just break down and get the Cutlass fixed.

I think taking out the CV shaft would help a lot too! Good luck! I know some of that stuff can be a real pita, but it's doable.

i tried again today for the 3rd time. i pulled the axle out and just barely had enough room to get two of the bolts into the rear side. however, there is no way i'm going to get that 3rd bolt in (the one that is about 4-5" behind the other two bolts next to what i think is the KS). i honestly can't see how anyone can get a bolt back in there. it would be easy to get it out, but i don't even have enough room to touch the bolt hole with my finger so there is just no way to even get a bolt up there and started. if i could get the bolt started i think i could reach it with a wrench....but just getting the bolt started is the problem.
anyway, the new bolts i got from the dealership are too small, and the new NAPA motor mount i got doesn't work becuase the studs are spaced too far apart to drop into place on the subframe. everything that could go wrong did today lol.
fuck this shit, i'm pulling the engine out. with as much time as i've dicked around with it so far i probably could have had this done if i just pulled the engine in the first place.

yeah i've been looking at ZZP's website. i know i don't want to get anything too wild but i still have alot of reading to do. more than likely i'll be getting TOGs or SLP headers before the engine goes back in as well.

Pulling the engine should be EASY! I help a friend of mine pull the engine out of his 98' Intrigue last Thurs. The hardest bolt to get to was the reversed bell housing bolt at the back of the engine. Took us about an hour and a half to get the engine out. With a half hour attempting to get that damn bell housing bolt. lol

the engine is coming out tomarrow! i worked on it awhile tonight and got just about everything ready. TQ convertor bolts are already out, belts are off, AC compressor unbolted and laying aside, starter is removed, engine wiring harness is all disconnected and laying out of the way, dogbones removed, lower mounts unbolted, radiator and PS pump drained and all lines disconnected, stupid huge airbox is all out, throttle cables disconnected, downpipe disconnected and crossover pipe removed etc. so far it has been really easy.
i need to go to NAPA tomarrow and get a quick-disconnect tool for the fuel lines above the S/C, pull the hood off then support the engine and remove the bellhousing bolts, then it's up and out of there.
