i'm not very good at interpreting scans; but i was getting almost 4* KR around 5150 RPM on that 2nd run.  KR seems to happen right around there but then goes down as i get up to redline.  hrmm.

any ideas?  do the O2 #s look ok?

what should i clean the MAF with and how do i do it?  i'll get a new air filter while i'm at it.  i'm going to buy some stock Autolite plugs this time around.....anyone know the # for stock heat range Autolite plug?  605?

TIA

sounds good to me.  Bob (ColoradoCoolBreeze...one of the best DHP tuners around as far as i know) seems to think there is probably nothing wrong with the car but why am i getting KR now at ~20*F temps and no KR when it was ~100*F outside?  just doesn't make sense.  so far my plans are:

- new 180* thermostat and gasket
- new Autolite plugs (stock)
- new fuel filter
- new air filter
- clean MAF

i'm also going to get some new plug wires when i can afford it.

i checked plugs today. i thought i had put stock AC Delco plugs in but now that i remember i couldn't find them locally so i used Autolite 606. they all looked consistent with each other - they basically looked perfect. no signs of too rich, too lean, no fouling at all and barely any wear. so i just put them back in. i would have put new plugs in, but the spark plugs only have maybe 5000 miles on them anyway, and besides, i'm totally broke at the moment.

i just installed NAPA ProSelect air & fuel filters.  they were both definately dirty, but ecspecially the fuel filter.  after i got it out i blew through it and VERY dirty gas came out; almost black looking   there was definately some 'resistance' too - not sure if it was normal but it wasn't really that easy to blow through.  could have been normal i'm not sure.  either way, it definately needed to be replaced.  it was probably the original 107,xxx mile fuel filter in there.

it could just be my imagination but the car seems to run a bit smoother and i really thought it felt a little faster.

Dan let me know when you have time to scan again.

Clogged fuel filter sure wouldn't help gas mileage lol.  I should have time this weekend to scan.

kick ass, thanks for letting me use your LS1M Dan!  the GS feels quick again and average MPG on the DIC is now back to 21-22 (city driving) and not 15-16 like before.  i'm happy biggrin

the car pulled wayyy harder tonight during the scan than it did a few days ago before i did the air & fuel filters.  that fuel filter was definately the problem!  O2 #s are much better now too.

well my GS isn't stock anymore...more like 98% stock haha.  i finally put the 180* thermostat in.  the stock 195* thermostat looked fine, but i can easily open it with my thumbs no problem.  stupid question, but is it supposed to be that easy?  i thought i'd have to press down hard to open it but it doesn't take much effort at all.  i forgot to compare it to the new one before i put it in.  anyway, the gauge still reads the same (3/8 of the way up) but i swear the heater does work a little better - although that could be due to the warmer ambient temps we are having right now.

i'm really tempted to just put some Autolite 605s in.  considering the TGP engine has stock plugs that are equivalent to Autolite 103s (three heat ranges colder), i find it surprising that the L67 got 606 plugs stock ecspecially due to the L67 having an inefficient power adder (as if the TGPs turbo isn't inefficient as well lol) and it being known for KR even stock.  should i do it?  if the 605s foul out i'll just go back to 606 until i get more mods like CAI and 3" DP.

Go for the 605's!!!  I've been meaning to put new plugs in my car for awhile now.  But the dealer I got the car from put new Autolight 606DP's in it. (double platinum).  Although I do have 26k more miles on it now. lol

Hmm, I might have to pull the front 3 tomorrow to see how they look. lol
