Id be cooler if they put like an EA82 car on the STI chassis. Instead of that aboniation, how retarded, Honda over subaru, Lets put a Ford body on a freakin Chevy frame and have a 350 in it while were at it.

brand, doesnt really mean anything to me. and you show me a chevy 4banger that can keep up to the STi.
can a Cobalt SS keep up with a civic running a spoon engine?
i dont understand when people think that only one brand of car is good.... it goes beyond my logic.
almost every brand makes a good car, shit look at the hyundai genesis... thats one sexy car and with the turbo 4cyl... shit man thats a sweet ride.

Yea thats abit different than putting a honda on a subaru, Maybe like an Old subaru on a new subaru or somthing. Im sure Honda and subaru fans alike are pissed about some kind of abomination like that. Plus brand loyalty is how companys still survive, im sure theres a reason you go to a certain gas station or buy a certain brand of oil. And Gm did make super high ouput 4 cylinders. 1000 hp quads come to mind.... and Spoon engines arnt in production cars dumbass what a way to compare lol....At least GM put a supercharged/Turbo later 4 cylinder in its production cars. Hondas Civic SI which is the most powerful FACTORY car you can get doenst even touch it, and WRXs are about even with it. Subarus have been having some serious issues with its STIs putting out so much power....

youre calling me a dumbass when you think loyalty is how automakers survive? sales man. all sales. and usually the butter on the bread is the shit you want after, like those waste of money protection packages that sell for sometimes over $3,000 and cost less than the shirt on your back to apply, and take less time than it takes me to get ready for work in the morning.
STUPIDITY is how automakers survive and make money... shit after toyota swept the rotting frames of the early 2000s under the rug, you think those guys stayed loyal to toyota? i bet half are driving nissans, and the other half are divided amongst the american truck makers. so, jumping ship seems to help them survive too.
and yes i know a spoon engine never came in a factory honda car.
heres the thing though, people getting mad at how another person spends their time and money really is just jealousy. instead, you should try to appreciate the work he put into it, and that the final result is a seemingly well fitted body on that car, and how long has it been since scoobydoo came in a 2 door? 8 years or something? he took what he had available and made a sweet ride. id take that subaru over any turbo 4 banger front wheel drive chevy made. ever.
as for the civic, its not my taste, but i still like how his final product came out. the budget was relatively low and he already owned the civic, as far as im concerned, he made a civic better by saving a written off STi. whats to get mad at? could you imagine how the other civic guys would look at you when you peel off and the back wheels spin a touch too?
Post Merge: April 25, 2010, 01:19:39 PM loyalty is technically a killer for carlots. if you sell someone their nissan sentra, and they never buy another car again for 10 years... where do you make the extra money? now, if they jump ship and trade that sentra in for a matrix or some shit, well then the next guy makes money.
but hey, i could be wrong.

I like to go against the flow. its fun. some of you guys seem to think gm makes the ONLY good vehicles in the world. THAT is being a dumbass. i laughed my ass off a couple months ago when i saw GMs latest commercial. it came on with a guy infront of is fullsize pickup saying "the #1 reason i bought my chevy... is because i can return it." i almost pissed myself laughing at that. it shouldnt be your slogan to sell vehicles because people can return them. AND Taurus SHO > G8GT.

You mean SLO. or noSHO. way to bring out a car that no longer has a nemisis (z34). The 3.0 slo suked , so did the v8. Now we turbo it cuz is the cool thong to do. And the g8 is faster anyway and not a hiddieous fwd Wanabe

Iv had mazdas, Suabru, Nissan, Chrysler, and out of all of them, my GMs have been the easiest, most trouble free. And my parents have had nothing but good luck with corsicas, grand ams, blazers and pickups, and now they have a Northstar Buick Lucerne CXL, so yea I am partial to my brand, so what.

no no no no no. its not being partial to a brand, its being in a sort, racist... but with brands. you saying gm is the only reliable easy to work on cars is prejudice. shit... before the taurus came about (even the MT5) what other car looked the same style as a taurus. the next copycat down the line WAS the tempest. the rounded body of the taurus started in 88. revolutionary styling they called it.
and ya know... ive owned almost every brand too. and the two most reliable vehicles ive owned were my nissan and my buick. (yes ill give u a plug there)
but lets talk about the G8... even with its 6.2V8 pushing just over what... 400hp? ur still only turning two wheels. u would put my (year round driving) money on the AWD twin turbo 365HP SHO if you ask me.
concidering the 6.2 is a special order motor and the 6.0 pushes a respectable 361 hp... by my math thats a mere 6hp less than the ford.
awd with 6 extra HP and 2 less cylinders. sounds like more power, better handling, and better mileage. AND i believe the sho is a cunt hair more affordable than the g8gt. yup go ford.

There not even comparable. A full size REAR wheel drive Sport sedan, and a FWD Larger Midsize Grandma Car, and how is 365hp from a twin turbo V6 (oh and i can IMAGINE the problems, and teething issues this engine will have, and how horrible it will be to work on and parts will be hideously exspensive) is somehow better than a 400hp V8, lol what logic. Im not brand racist, i just like my low end torque that little rice burners cant give me, and ford, i just get so tired of the 11mm, 16mm, 18mm sizes, WTF only fucking ford can put those sizes on a car, Those sizes never seem to be in my tool box...and there awful noisy horrible powersteering pumps, pieces of shit sound like there gonna blow up off the lot. Gm of the 80's and 90's are leaps and bounds better than fords. I sit in a ford, so cheap, gross, strange, makes me uncomfortable, then to turn the wheel and hear the awful noise makes me wanna drive them off a cliff. Sorry ford leg humper, you wont convince me my GM is worse than a ghastly ford (all in the respect of the 80's and 90's) And Its a rare sight to ever see a honda not puking out tons of blue smoke, so ill pass on that little treat

ok, well whatever. i lied... its not that i hate all gm cars. its that i only like cars that are red. if its not red its a pile of shit and can be pushed (not driven) into the grand canyon. its ok
-the loudest power steering pumps out of mine and all my friends cars are #1my old buick (probably low on fluid as buddy does 0 maint) and my lumina, as it blew a line and im just waiting for a good chance to fix it. (oh but the wonderfully designed lq1 has so much room behind it that i dont want to just hammer it thru, ya know?) and that can be followed up with my other friends toyota. but honestly, ive never really heard anyones ps pump unless its low is all im trying to say.
and if ur missing tools, dont bitch about it, put them back when ur done.
6.0 G8 = 361HP 3.5 SHO = 365hp...
grandmas gonna blow past you boy!! haha
