Random member quote: People say the mini cooper is fast, and handles amazing. I asked a girl why she loved hers.  Her response was "it’s small, and cute, and I can fit everything in it...  just like my purse".  It was at that point I felt my nuts crawl up inside my body and refuse to come back out.

So far I have seen 2 G8s.  Couple of weeks ago a black GT and it had a US plate on it (I forget what state.. lol).  The other day I'm pretty sure I saw a red G8 fly by in the opposite direction.  I work near the "golden auto mile" in the city where all the dealerships are, so if a new car is out I'm likely to see it.

Anyways I talked to a GM salesman a couple weeks ago and he said the G8s are out in the US, will be available in Canada in several weeks but as a 2009 models.  Also I dont' know if there is any truth to this, but the current GT models are only V6s??

So have the G8s officially replaced the GPs in dealerships everywhere, or are they still really new?

I've seen a couple of them now. The Base G8's are the 3.6vvt. But the GT's have the 6.0 V8 engine.(forget the exact RPO)

I haven't been by any Pontiac dealers recently, but I'm sure there's still some GP's left on the lots.

I have seen a couple here.  The ones that I have seen were GT's and they both had the V8.  I have not seen a V6 one that I know of yet.

The local dealership does not even have a G8 there.  They have a few Grand Prix's.  The only big V8 they are pushing here is the V8 Lucern.

Seen one today at a dealership.  2009 model, GT.  361hp 6.0L V8.  $41000 (same price as the GXP was).  What else could you want?  biggrin
