ok, so this has been an ongoing problem for a while now. started in the fall, and just sorta got worse.
when the brakes are applied, extremely minimal effort was required to trigger ABS, on a slight patch of gravel. and i mean very minimal, like just touch the brakes kinda thing. so when winter hit i just removed the ABS fuse so she could actually stop. the abs was coming on SOOO bad that she couldnt even stop within a normal distance. is there some sorta proportional valve or something that could be shot sending any and all power to the front brakes? its always the fronts that lock. the rotors are good pads are near new.
its so bad now, that without the ABS fuse, the brakes are making the tires squeal on dry pavement from time to time. this would be good if she drove like mario andretti, but she drives like she owns a 99 sunflower...

That's a head scratcher.

I've had issues with shit brakes not stopping my car, but not with hyper-sensitive brakes locking up at the drop of a hat.

Sounds like a bad/stuck proportional valve sending all the pressure to the front calipers, but I can be wrong. Does the e-brake work, how do the pads look on the front/rear? Have you had the car on jackstands with the wheels removed and watched the calipers while the brakes were applied?

Front pads look good, never looked at the back or tried the jackstand trick. Ebrake works. (But that's a whole 'nother system, isn't it?)
