I'm a little fed up with w-body.com forums right now (I have 4000+ posts there), so I'm thinking a change of pace might be good. The moderators there just don't seem to give a shit what you think regardless of how politely or respectfully you say it.

But this is supposed to be about me, so I'll let the car do the talking.

I drive a 95 Buick Regal Custom. It was my first car, bought it at the age of 16 through hard work and sweat. Paid insurance and repairs for it every year I owned it. It had 61k when I bought it, and now has 213k. Its sitting in my garage after a month and a half of not being driven due to a busted parking pawl rod. I'm dropping the subframe hopefully tomorrow to remove the side cover off the trans and get that mess sorted out.

I've done every bit of work on this car myself, and have a lot invested in the car as far as parts and time. I make sure to keep everything in perfect shape. I live in Illinois (Chicago area), but I bought the car in California, so there is barely any rust on it. There's a lot behind this car in terms of stories, so feel free to ask if you're at all curious.

welcome to the forum of w-body misfits LOL

hi andrei

Nice to see you're on here to.

Adam has 8000+ posts and I have 4000+. W-body.com could lose both of us and several more, and the moderators wouldn't flinch. Perhaps this place will be more friendly. Hi5

Good to know. I'm liking it here already. I cut out the holes and mounted the Z34 vents with a couple of brackets and some sheet metal screws. Sealed them up with (don't hurt me) JB Weld. They stay on nice and tight. I have a cone filter mounted above the intake manifold, so it sucks in cold air straight from the vents on the highway. In 50 degree weather, I recorded the manifold air temp at 58 degrees F on the highway.

Welcome! I'm sure you probably recognize me from W-body... but this was my first home!

Sure sounds like it. I'll be copying some of my more important threads from w-body.com over here soon.

Thanks! I've made 12 trips between Chicago and Los Angeles with it. Its taken me through hell and back and only left me stranded twice.  The first time was a coolant elbow that went from the manifold to the water pump (as far as I could tell), and a tensioner pulley. Not bad for 213k. Granted, it now won't go in reverse, or neutral, and I have to spaz the shifter for 15 minutes to get it to go into 1st gear, but I'm working on that.

This car won't ever be for sale. I'm keeping it till the engine dies (if ever), and if this one dies, I'll drop an L67 till the body rusts away. Pulled a consistent .91 lateral G's on my g-timer while driving in the mountains in California last year. I have a screenshot of that too:

But this isn't my only car.

87 Jaguar V12 with coolant leak

Swapped engines and transmissions in that myself. Had never pulled an engine before in my life. What a great start huh. What a damn long story.

But enough about that. You guys can ask me questions about that car if you want to. All I'm going to say about it for now is that I've never worked on a more intelligently designed and well built engine and car before. I loved every minute of it.

Oh yeah, and I'm getting married this month, on the 27th.

What's up Andrei?  I'm w/ ya on W-Body.  I'm there too and think it's a little crazy at times.

A little slower pace here w/ some of the same guys from W.  Good change of scenery.

Wow, I didn't get that daring with my old 95 Regal.  Pretty damn impressive, though!  How much HP did you gain with the mods you did to that L27?

I gained fairly little from those mods. The heads don't flow for shit, so you can mod mod the hell out of the engine and not gain much. I'm porting and polishing the heads this spring after I change the head gaskets on the jag. Hopefully that will unleash the potential of the other mods. The series 2 3800 makes 35hp more with just heads and intakes. Valves are nearly the same size. 3800 heads in general flow very poorly.
