Well I have a shovel in the trunk... but if this weather keeps up I'll need a bigger shovel.
Thankfully it is not -29C here... yet. It is -11c as I type this, and it fell to -20C the last 2 nights.
Just last week we were still seeing the occasional high of 10C... but then a storm came and dumped like 14 inches of snow on us in 28 hours.
I'm thinking about finding an OEM block heater to throw in the Grand Prix, but as it is it already starts WAY better in the cold than my old hunk of junk car... which was a `99 Dodge Neon. Inline 4 with an aluminum block really does not do so well in the cold...
One day last winter, when it was about -35C, the Neon's engine completely seized from the cold... ran the battery bone dry trying to start it over the course of a few hours that morning and the crankshaft never even budged. Finally that afternoon, after it had warmed up to maybe -30C I got a buddy of mine to come over with his Lexus SUV equipped with an ultra high output battery. We hooked his battery into mine and it took 1.25 hours of the Lexus idling before my dome light would even illuminate again! Finally after an hour and a half of the Lexus idling I got the engine to turn... I even got a cylinder to fire! Still would not turn over. After another 15 minutes the Neon finally started, but I will never forget the horrible noises it made while doing so. LOL Seriously during the first complete revolution of the crankshaft those first 4 sparks fired at least 1 second apart... that's like 15 rpm! Knocked and leaked oil pretty good after that.
I hated that car so much for so many reasons.
Anyway, I severely digress... I love my Grand Prix and that is what counts
