Damn that car looks great for not having a front end.
Thanks. It's WAY straight, especially for Minnesota where we salt the roads six months out of the year. Most would have been rust-buckets already years ago.
Do you know if the 88-91 fenders are exactly the same as the 92-97 ones?
So far, pretty much. Installation was mostly bolt-for-bolt, save for one top hole on the older fender that didn't line up and an incurable misalignment of the "middle" brace on the side nearest the door (something like two inches difference - had to skip it, no ill effects so far).
Only major difference is in the mounting plate for the header panel - kinda tough to explain without a picture, but suffice it to say that they do differ in that respect. The older had a bracket that was lower and further back, while the newer had it located just behind the indicator. I had to cut out the bracket on my newer fender to be able to install an older indicator assembly (no biggie since it wasn't serving any purpose)... will have to devise some sort of bracket to hold that side of the header, though.
Otherwise, the only differences are trim-related and can be seen in the pic: chrome wheelwell trim instead of plastic body-colored (swapped for newer), pinstripe and "middle trim" where the '94 had none (will be removed), and different lower trim (will be putting on newer).
And, as others have already stated, the older hood fits perfectly - just have to use the older grille and bumper cover with it, since the hood has a 6"x4" or so (rough guess) section in the center that extends down into the grille area. It may be possible to remove that section from the hood and use it with newer grille, etc, but I have none here to compare with.
