i'm from snowy WI. as the subject states, just got a 96 regal sedan. Series II 3800, White, Red Leather interior,  PW, PL, Power seats, Power Mirrors, AM/FM cassette, 163k. I've gotton 32mpg hwy with it.

got it for the girlfriend cause it was cheap, and she needs a reliable car till i can get her a good solid old car that i'll have refurbished... once she has that it will become her winter beater.... or mine... but till then, i'm fixing the issues with it. when i'm done with it i will have a Buick true to its heritage. she will go to 500k+, or till the body rusts away and the rear trailing arms attach and they pull out... if that happens when i'm feeling ambitious, it will get fixed, otherwise, that 3.8 will find a nice home under the hood of something else...

i have alot of other cars, and am a big enthusiast. if it has wheels and metal i'm into it (the more metal and LESS PLASTIC, the better, lol).
so please, if you have another car and are having issues with it, please feel free to contact me if you have vehicles other than W bodys that your having issues with, i'll try to help if i can.

thats all for now. Happy motoring.

Btw, any one got a Spotted Cow? lol

Welcome! I'm guessing by your name you own an AMC too? We had one... an '83 AMC Spirit hatchback, it never ran right though.

I fixed it, only because I bought the car with 30k on it and now it has 80k. I have a lot of time and money into that car, so I wanted to keep it running as long as possible.

Then the fucking thing died and it's been sitting ever since. Come spring I'm probably stripping and junking it.

lol, yeah i would love an S/C.... funny story... years ago i was talking to this older guy in town about AMC's (just about how they made a decent car and it was a shame they weren't still around, yada yada), and he starts talking about this Rambler sitting in a town that was just down the road from us, i asked if if was a 2 door  or 4,  he goes 2 door, decent looking car in its day, but it has this hideous looking hoodscoop on it, and its been sitting for a long time uncared for, and the weathers starting to get to it... i was like, wait, hood scoop? what color is it? he goes, white, but i think he or someone had these red stripes painted on it... i went, just red, or were there blue ones too? he goes, yeah, come to think of it, there were blue ones too... any way, long story short, sounded like it was an "A" S/C Rambler, i went and looked for it once, but never found it, but i was taking to someone else a few weeks later and had the story confirmed... it was kinda cool

hey when you say your 92 died, what happened to it exactly?

hey, so you know, auto zone carrys that fuel pressure tester, its round 30 bucks i believe. i forgot if the 3.1 has a schroeder type valve on the injector rail or not (sorry, i tended to avoid those engines like the plague, i know, saying that here is liable to get me shot, lol... i just like the 3.cool
though that 60 degree family of sixes is growing on me...

i assume if your body gave where the suspension attaches that the gas tank has been replaced already...? reason being if it has and its not rusty, and if you filler neck isnt rusted, you can avoid dropping the tank... i know how much of a pain in the ass those bolts are that hold the straps... worst location ever....   your gonna laugh or cringe, and i assure you i am not a butcher, but desperate times called for desperate measures. lol.  (she needed th car to get to work and i would be doing the rest of the rear at a later date)

anyway, i looked underneath, located the sump, which on my sedan was right where the trunk floor curves down to the back of the back seat, i tokk my air chisel, and put a small slit, to re-assure i was right above the fuel sender, which i was. you can then proceed to cut a square out of the floor, i think mine was like 8 inches wide and 10 inches long . it was just big enough to lift the sender out.  i then took the air chisel and chiseled a chunk out of the door of an old chevy truck i was parting out (dont worry, the door... and every other body part, was shot, lol.) attached it temporarily with Clekos so i could hammer-form a new panel/ cover plate, and then secured it with about 20 rivets, with a bead of roofing tar to seal out water... and to make future service real easy, just drill out the rivets, remove the plate, then reverse... DONT USE SCREWS they will puncture the tank.

if you choose to do this, USE CAUTION when chiseling and drilling holes for the rivets, so that you dont puncture the tank, use EXTRA CAUTION when your working around the downward slope by the tunnel, the floor is VERY close to the top of the tank.

Autozone is a 2+ hour drive for me, no other auto parts store around me carries it. I know fuel is getting to the fuel rial because if I open the Schroeder valve with a screwdriver or something, fuel will spray out; and the pump is running when it's supposed to.

Gas tank hasn't been replaced, but the filler neck has rotted all to hell, I've patched it up with rubber hoses as a temp fix, but never fully replaced it because junkyards think the filler neck is worth 50-75 dollars lol

I fixed my trailing arm mount with some 1/4" plate and two 3/8" bolts. That thing will NEVER come off unless I want it to.

mine was bad and i still had pressure at the rail, sometimes it would even start, sometimes it would run like crap, othertimes it would run great. i believe thats a 60psi system, you may be running like 20, still enough to give the impression you have a good amount of pressure, but not enough to function properly...

you should have a napa by you. i know they sell them, if the guy says otherwise, he doesnt know what he's talking about. if you go there and he says they dont carry it, let me know i will call mine and get the part number and he can look it up by that. i know for a fact they sell one.

other wise you can build one REALLY easily and for about 5-10 bucks. this is what i did for my BMW, and i made mine as a permanent installation for easier diagnostics in the future.  go to a hardware store or a home depot, go to the plumbing department, get a 100psi water pressure gauge, a brass nipple to thread into the gauge, a brass "T", three nipples to go in that (same size as what you put on the gauge) and some high pressure fuel line. then just find a place to tap into your high pressure line.

also, for your filler neck, you can get one brand new from GM for like $59 if my memory serves me correctly. thats where i got mine.
