any reccomendations on how i should clean these before i put them in? any specific product i should buy or?? they are actually blue but the pics make them look gray ecspecially since they are so dirty. there are no worn holes, no cigarette burns, and the rear side of the seats (hard plastic with the pockets) are in really nice looking shape. the stains look like they're from spilled cola; not oil or anything. the rear seats are much cleaner and also have no worn holes, no cigarette burns etc. the rear seats fold down all the way across no center pass-through BS. any suggestion appreciated, i want to get these cleaned and instaled this weekend.

At work we use AC Delco Fabric cleaner, it's in a small black container (maybe half oz?). Works great at removing stains. Just rub it with a terry cloth.
For general dirt, I'd lather up some soapy water and gently scrub them with a soft brush. If you got a Bissell, or some other carpet machine (rug doctor?) or possibly even a shopvac to suck up the water would be your best bet. At work we got a hot water extractor ($2500 machine) it's amazing what it can do.

I've always used a product called "Tuff Stuff" (it's in a yellow aerosol can with an integral scrub brush.) The stuff works surprisingly well, and I've used it to clean many a dirt-stained junkyard seat. I found it to work best on dirt (grease, "carbonated beverages," coffee, etc. not so well.)
As far as extraction machines go, the el-cheapo Hoover machine I have at work doesn't get stained upholstry clean very well either (it's so-so on dirt, depending on how much detergent you add.) Guess you get what you pay for...

you can just go buy a bissel machine "try it out" by cleaning the seats and return it because you don't like it

yup, when i got my first lumina from my mom years and years ago, she had coffee spilled everywhere. seats, floor, doors, dash, headliner. it looked like the car lost a battle with the coffee monster. tuff stuff cleaned it up and made it look awesome.

They made an older one that was "updated" version of the machine I got. I picked it up at an auction for $2 and just had to fix the cap on the fluid tank to get it working. I've used it on the carpet in my sister's room and it took out some coffee(?) and a mystery stain. I had pre-sprayed those stains with Vim Oxy bathroom cleaner (in a green spray botttle). It sprays water and sucks it up good anyways.

i would but i just don't have the time - unless Dan can possibly do it for me this weekend (his Dad owns a cleaning business).
today i bought a can of Tuff Stuff for the seats, and also bought a pack of micro fiber towels and a 16oz bottle of Black Magic Pro Shine protectant so i can finally keep my interior clean.

DAMN that Tuff Stuff works pretty good! i've only cleaned the passenger seat so far (took almost the entire can because i went over them twice and used a fairly liberal amount). the passenger seat now looks BLUE again and all stains are GONE! just compare it to the uncleaned driver's seat:

Anyways they look good!! part of them looking darker is probably that they were still a little damp (they didn't actually get real wet or anything).
