So, i know i ran this past you guys before, but i went ahead and did it today. Boss guy ordered a spray in bed liner kit for his truck (not the same as one the pros do, but it looked good out of the bottle, we see how it holds up) well, the kit is made to over kill a HUGE full size long box off of a huge pickup truck. so we knew there was going to be some leftovers...  cool well, i pull my car in the shop and start rippin everything out of the trunk, subs carpeting, insulation, spare tire... EVERYTHING but the wires and shit.
next step, mask off the outside of the trunk. what next? well it was lined up with the truck, and the tail gate. so i sprayed the bed of the truck, the tail gate. then started on my car. with still 1/4 of the total mixture left to spray. (turned out to be WAY more than i needed, meh.) i emptied the whole spray gun in my trunk! hahaha

so far ive noticed (with witnesses) that the ass rattles less now! and i think the bass is louder inside the car too.

now, did i hear you say... Pictures? biggrin i hoped so.

(yes i know there are some red parts in there, and i missed the front 1' of the trunk -on purpose) the red parts are from not being able to get the gun in at an angle that would spray said areas.

next up, stick some dynomat on that shit and it shouldnt vibrate anything. oh and im going to spray the inside of the trunk lid too i think!! haha

Nice! I noticed our supplier at work (no longer Federated, we're with Auto Plus/Uni-Select USA/MAWDI now) carries Plastikote spray on bed liner in a can. Wonder if that stuff is any good. It also comes in a roller form...

might be a good idea, might not be.
if not properly cleaned and prepped, this product will peel off in HUGE sheets the sales man told me. lol also it dries up like a plastic, its really hard. so taking bolts out afterwards could be a difficult task.

My boyfriend was wanting to do that to the Bronco. Makes perfect sense, since we have no back seats in it. Just all metal.

Got any tips?

get a mask. lol the fumes are HORRIBLE!! i had a dust mask on, but it was nowhere near enough. maybe some fans blowing and all the doors open? it sets pretty fast, so thats not really an issue. the more you sand the better it sticks, doesnt stick well to plastic (anything i sprayed in my trunk can peel right off no problem from plastic, but i didnt really even clean it, just vacuumed, and scraped off some of the insulation from before (the cloth like shit) the rest i sprayed over. lol i dont care.

mask the glass off or take it out. this will save you some headaches later. i got a little squirt on my rear 1/4 and it took ALOT of wd40 to take it off!! lol now i have kindof a scuffed up part too, better get the polisher out i suppose.

all in all it was EASY and very well worth it. makes the bass so much cleaner and the car sounds WAY better from the outside aswell.
