My 2005 GP has the dual zone climate control. It's very awesome and I love it!

BUTTT

I rarely use A/C, and every time I turn the thing on, any setting, any temp, the ac automatically comes on and I have to press the separate snowflake button to turn it off because I don't need it.

Is there any way to change this? I have some cute little toggle switches I could use if it somehow came to that...

TIA!

Buck.

I suppose you could put a toggle switch in there somewhere.  The LIGHT will probably be on, but if you have that switch off, the compressor will not turn on.

You just need to find the AC relay, find the HOT WITH AC ON wire, cut it, and wire in the switch.  That is the easiest way to do that.

I can't really help with finding the relay, or which wire to cut seeing I don't have wiring for cars that new.  In my 1995, the wire on the relay you need to cut is DARK GREEN (there is also a dark green/white one, but the solid dark green one goes directly to the relay).

Do those have a body control module, you may need to have the dealer reprogram it.

True.  If that car has a BCM setup, the compressor not turning on might throw a code.  Easiest way to test this is to run the AC with the AC COMPRESSOR RELAY REMOVED.

If it throws a code, then you will know that unless you do something with the BCM, you will have to deal with that.

I know in my older Cutlass Supreme's if it does not work right, then it makes the *F in the display flash for the first 2 minutes or so after start up.
