Hi, I have never replaced the plugs on a FWD V6 car before but a friend wants me to do it for him on his 3.8 Regal.  I didn't see anything about it on the forum, and this might be a handy thing to have.  We glanced at it and it looked fairly daunting as the plugs are WAY back there.  the Haynes book was not particularly helpful.

Any tips/Tricks/hints/stern warnings?

Alan

Use ur feelers, but a disconnected dog bone and ratchet strap could help rotate the motor

Simplest way I've found in the years of changing plugs is to set the parking brake, put the car in neutral, disconnect the dogbones and move the engine forward (I like to use a heavy duty screwdriver or prybar inserted in between the dogbone and mount), then slip the bolt through the 2nd hole on the dogbone which will keep the engine tilted forward.

I've also found that using my air line and blowing all the crap out of the spark plug hole BEFORE removing the spark plugs makes life easier and my engine happier.

I removed my engine lift bracket back there and it made it way easier.

Pulled the bolts from the engine mounts and stuck a jack under the rear side of the transmission and pushed it forwards ;-)
