Hi,

I replaced the LIM gaskets on my 98's 3.8L Lumina and now if I accelerate to 100km/h or 60 miles the car is stuttering short and then it drives normal. But before 30 minutes I get a test drive and then the engine light comes on for 10 sec. and after it gone off and never come back. I need help where I can look.

if it was check gauges (not check engine) then you probably didnt burp the coolant properly, if its check engine... then i would look for something you probably forgot to plug in, like a vac line or sensor, possibly some other sort of electrical connector.

Hey,

thank you for answering.
What did you mean with burp? The coolant is full and there is no air in the hose. Yesterday on accelerating on highway the engine light comes on for seconds, and after leave the accelerator pedal its goes off and remained.

sounds like EGR -or possibly a plugged cat, a good idea would be to get the car scanned (if you can do so for cheap/free) the code should be stored in there and will tell you why it was coming on.

So my guess was off, what causes a lean cylinder? lol (yes i know thats not the proper wording) it would have to be something upstream from the cylinder, in the whole operation... back to vac leak? dirty air filter? -then it may be to rich? dirty MAF or MAP sensors?

Ok with the Sensors I read often in others forum, but what my problem is: before I changed the LIM gasket and oil, and cooling water all was fine. How much percent can an fault fuel injector o ring make this symptoms? I replace before one year the upper intake and does not changed the o rings and now I didn't do this again...
