Hi,

its the third year that our Lumina do strange things.

Every year if its cold the Lumina starts normal, drives normal and if he warm up, the brake pedal will be hard, the car is shaking and stutter, then if you put off the Lumina all works perfect.

He does it one max. two times in a year every time it is cold and there is no trouble code nor light nothing. We have replaced: spark plugs and wires, ignition module, upper intake manifold, fuel filter, oil and cooling water, air filter and nothing helps...

Can anybody give us a tip for what we must looking?

Oh and the exhaust is stinking like faulty eggs if he do it.

Yeah I'm not quite following what you're saying... I think maybe he's having an ICM issue, but can't be completely sure.

I dont want a new one, I want find the problem...
The error is that the car starts to stutter and the brake pedal is very hard. After I turned off the car and have restarted everything is OK again.
This error appeared only 1-2 times a year on that for 3 years in a row and I can not find the error. Since no error codes are stored. The engine speed is constant at 1000 RPM in the stand if the error is now present.

Hope this is better.

The brake pedal would be hard if the car is idling very low since it's vacuum assisted. If the car isn't idling very low it means there's a vacuum leak, for the brake pedal to be hard it's a large vacuum leak or quite possibly the check valve on the booster (although it doesn't really sound like it, that's a straw to grasp at).

To me, if I'm understanding you correctly; it sounds like the vacuum line to the booster is cracked or somewhat disconnected. Check that line for cracks, and replace it and the valve if necessary.

the "faulty egg" smell is caused by the catalytic converter. it's either already junk, or it's heating up beyond normal operating specifications, both of which will cause that smell.

a plugged exhaust can also can low manifold vacuum due to excessive backpressure, which may explain some of your other issues as well.

If I read all of this, sounds like the guess was to replace catalytic converter, or remove it and use a length of pipe in its place.

Its under your car, along the exhaust system just shortly after the engine but before the muffler.

What did you replace exactly?

He can't replace his cat with a length of pipe without an O2 simulator because it's OBD-II

ummm nobody thinks this sounds like a bad brake booster? has a leak, big vacuum leak and runs like shit because its maf car, no vacuum in the booster, no assist. only does it when the brake is pushed......strange how he worded it but, im pretty sure from what hes saying its a bad booster.
