Most (including mine) have blue bowtie in the grille.  I have seen others that have gold, what year are those ones, 2005?  Did they change or is it a random thing?

Well, according to my research(lol ebay)  it seems that 2000-2003 had blue bowties, and 2004 and 2005 were gold.  Dunno how much I'd hold to that though haha.

Makes sense.  I'm thinking of changing mine to gold so that people think it's newer LOL (Looks like an 05 wink)

Haha.  what about black?  Blacking out that whole chrome strip on the grille might look good.  Since there isn't any other chrome on the car haha.

Thought about it, but I think it would look like it fell out or something.  I'm thinking maybe silver, to just blend in.  The rest of the grill paint black and just have the chrome strip.  I don't like the SS grill that much..

i painted the front bowtie on my cobalt orange (1st) and then gunmetal to match the grill.  i like the gunmetal the best. i hate chrome anything, so anything looked better than the gold and chrome one, lol

00-04 were blue, 05's were gold.  The exception is the 04 Indy SS, which was the only 04 to get a gold bowtie.

The part # for the gold bowtie is 10341972.  I picked up the gold BT for my Indy grille from ZSPOT on NAIOA for $18 shipped.

04's and 05's are the only 2 years that you can tell for sure what year they are by looking at 'em.  00-03 Impys have blue bowties, and red taillight surrounds.  04's have the blue BT with black taillight surrounds, and 05's have the gold BT with black taillight surrounds (assuming they don't have the SS/LS Sport taillight covers installed.)  "Standard" 04 SS's have the regular ole Impy grille with a blue BT, whereas all 05 SS's have the "Indy" grille...
