just gonna keep an update on things ive done when i can.

so far:  car quit making engine noise (musta had carbon or something in there) woohoo, ran seafoam through intake and gas along w/91 oct need to add some water remover jic, gutted cat (was making noise, no emissions here anymore), ripped out all interior minus dash and front seats (going to clean up this weekend and reinstall), repainted red interior pieces (found an exact match except for the metallic in it), gunmetal xlaces on, removed spoiler (not original, thank god)

list to do (so far): 94+ front knuckle assemblies, 94+ rear brakes, addco gen 1 i got laying around, clean up engine bay and leaks, 96 intake and reseal drive ring as well as timing belt and +6/-6 timing mod, replace painted interior pieces along w/ some other missing pieces and fix driver seat, aweb sills maybe down the line if i can get them, vert stb or buick bar, rear stb

thats all i can think of right now.  needs a crap load of body work, but thats the least of my worries right now.

had the same problem and couldnt find the right codec.  when i loaded up vista and mp11 it worked no problem.

got most of the interior put back together, just trying to get the cig lighter to work and the pneumatic part of the seats quit working all of the sudden too.  put the console back in, hooked em up and they dont work anymore.  trying to hook up the trunk release to the remote on the gm accessories security system but cant find the right wire to tap into on the module.  ill take some updated pix pretty soon.

engine noise still gone?  i remember luke was looking for a motor forever.  it would be kinda funny if it was something of a stuck lifter that freed itself.

it wasnt the same material as my 96 and the legs werent molded on.

yeah, noise is still gone.  def wasnt a spun rod bearing.  either a sticky lifter or some carbon was just stuck in there.  i havent ran it when it was really cold out, but its not going to come back at this point.  ive been driving it around as much as i can and i drove it all around this weekend.  its running good except it idles funny every once in a while and sets an ses code temporarily that i keep forgetting to pull.

cd player doesnt work so im putting my jvc back in.  which harness adapter do i need?  is it just the regular one (schosche gm02) or special?   also, i fogot where two connectors under the console went.  theres one for the lighter/light, two for the seat controls, and two more.  do they just plug into each other or go somewhere else?  i feel stupid for that question, but i cant find any wiring schematics in alldata

edit:  woohoo, just ordered a used ffp dogbone and udp

another question:  the engine seems to move quite a bit sometimes but the mounts LOOKED okay just from a visual on the car and the dogbone is okay.  is this normal for 5speeds?  why did aaron's car have 2 dogbones?  im sorry: stupid question

yeah, it was kind of hard to tell until i took it off, plus there were indented lines towards the outside on both ends.   i dont have the spoiler anymore; i gave it to a kid i know in h.s. that was going to try to sell it lol  i told him he needed to put some wood blocks under it so it was taller and he laughed.

oh, yeah, tried to finish putting the front console back together and had to pull it out to redo some stuff so it was right.  however, im just going to try to find a replacement console since this one isnt that great and swap it out when i can.  going to put in my jvc kd-ar5500 hopefully tonight since the cd player doesnt work but i need to get the install stuff.

got all the random hanging wires figured out (took the glovebox out, dash off and all the hush panels, well, the driver side is missing).  got everything set up to put my radio in.  i hate programming these damn pac swc interfaces.  gotta figure out why some of the radio controls arent working?   still cant figure out why these damn aq9 controls arent working.  any input?

this weekend, im going to powerwash the underside of the car (esp. the engine to make sure theres only the drive ring leaking, do the big 3 wiring upgrade w/ the leftover 4ga power wire from my old car, paint the fender braces, wiper arms, and cowling, replace the fuel filter, try to clean up the outside a little, repaint the fender moldings and plug the holes from the spoiler...if i can get all that done
