So i did an oil change today. after 1 hour of searching for Oil filter, i go to the other site and search for where its at. so i spend another 25 minutes looking underneath until i find it, swear at it, swear at the only engineer dumber than the one at ford that put the 3.8L oil filter on the k-member, then drive to my dads work for the right oil filter wrench. 30 minutes later i get the filter off and spill just 3 drops of oil on my mom's garage floor.

lol  You just got schooled, young grashoppah!!!  It's alot quicker and easier to change an alternator on an L27 than it is to change the oil filter!

You searched for it for an hour?  You can easily spot it when you look under the hood on the passenger side.  I don't know about yours, but my Regal has a little drip tray that diverts the oil from the filter area down to the back of the subframe so you can place your drain pan in an easily accessible location...

Well you still have to contort your arm, but on the L27, you can sit on the floor instead of leaning over the engine.  It's probably the same as far as fitting the filter through a tight space after you remove it...

i just did an oil change on my brother's '94 Bonneville SSE with the L27.  it was easier than changing oil on my Cutlass!  i love having an oil filter that goes on vertical - less mess FTW.  on my 3.1 i always have to wipe off the oil that spilled on the block and subframe (since i add some oil to the filter before spinning it on).  my Regal GS - now that couldn't be easier.

yeah i have it easy on my 3.1 with no AC in the way and the TGP oil cooler which makes the filter stick out further.
