Sounds like it it would be a good project, especially with the low miles on it.

almost 100,000 less miles than my Cutlass, but 148,000 miles isn't exactly low mileage.  what the hell would i do with an LQ1/4T60-E lol.  maybe i could use it as a coffee table in my garage.

very very doubtful i will end up buying the car, but who knows.  i guess it all depends on how Virginia works out in the coming months.

My co-worker has an LQ1/4t60, in the form of an RPE. He just got done rebuilding the engine, and he milled the heads like .050. He wants to turbo it, especially when I told him you can/could get a T25 set up from a TGP from around $600ish. So ya never know, maybe you could get a good project going from it!

But like you said VA is going to be a big part of everything.

only problem is nothing from a tgp turbo setup will work on an lq1

He deffinatly point that out to me! haha, but he still wants to put a turbo on it, and he was only thinking around 6-8lbs of boost. But the T25 used on the TGP will do almost 15psi. ( what is it like 14.7psi or something like that? )

FUCK!  so i just talked to my next door neighboor and he's trying to sell some of his cars.  one is an '89 RX7 (non-turbo) BUT the other is his GF's BLACK '89 SHO!  fuck i love those 1st GEN SHOs.  he said it had around 140,000 miles, body is almost perfect with absolutely NO rust (i looked under the car and everything - it's bone dry).  clean interior.  clutch is only 2 months old and it has new snow tires.  i started it up and it purrrs.  really nice looking car ecspecially in black.  only downside is no power moonroof and there is a small dent in the hood (barely noticeable).  he said he'd sell it to me for $1200, which i think is more than fair.  why does a deal like this have come up just before i'm moving.  ugh!  i'll have to snap a pic of it otherwise this post is useless lol.  i'd take this over that '92 DOHC STE in a heartbeat.

well as it turns out i will be heading down to take another look at the car today.  i've stopped by twice in the past - a few years ago the owner's wife said she wanted the car gone because it was his ex wife's car and she didn't like it sitting there or something like that.  then last fall i stopped by again and talked to his son, who said his dad had been wanting to get rid of the cars in the back yard.  hopefully i can actually talk to the owner this time.

so far i like what i've seen; i just need a better look at the underside before giving him a cash offer.  hopefully the car is clean (and has a clean/available title) and he just wants to get rid of it.
