umm on the 3.4 DOHC cars, the oil pump drive is partially covered by the head. How do you do it without removing the rear head?

umm on the 3.4 DOHC cars, the oil pump drive is partially covered by the head. How do you do it without removing the rear head? -it will pop up 1/8" - 1/4" without removing the head. pop it up, clean it out with a pipe cleaner (those brush like things on a wire covered in brake cleaner, then i slid a gasket (i cut out of a sheet of gasket material) around it -a full circle with a slit in it. also had alot of gasket maker on it too. (was a real pain in the ass to get in there) but hey, it beats taking off the head, or the intakes for that matter. car DOES NOT leak a drop!! i had it parked on a hoist at work while i watched a movie in it (slow day) 2 hours later i drove off the hoist and the dusty pavement underneath was dry as a bone!!

i might do that, but I now I need to remove the rear cam carrier. I might do it like that until then.
I plan on taking the car off the road for a while to do a LOT of needed work. It is driving good now, but I have about 3 or 4 leaks that need to be taken care of. I just got to get my new (not new, but newer) car home, and do some work to it first.

I thought i had a few leaks too, cuz when i took the upper and lower intakes off, i thought i had it fixed when i did it then with gasket maker, but it still leaked like crazy, that little cap leaks and spits it EVERYWHERE. my car starts easier now cuz the starter isnt soaked in oil (my guess) now you tell me how oil is going to get from back there to on the starter?? i dunno, but it did!! that was leaking, plus before i took the intakes off, the PCV hose was leaking and the oil seal underneath the PCV. the felpro gasket set i bought came with all the gaskets i needed for $50. (except for the oil pump)

or do it without taking the head off, been a decent while now, no leaks... had it fixed in about an hour. how long does it take you to get that cover off of a DOHC?

I hate to sound naggy but its technicly the Oil pump drive seal. Where the distributor used to be. Saying the distributor cap leaks sounds real funny to any car buff.....
