i dont think so. i think they got that in 93. so if it has a 93 trans your good. easiest way to tell is get under the car and read what the trans says

be warned... that I have not checked into whether of not 3800 cars are partially pre-wired. he has a z34 now so it has the 3.4 ME=FAIL!!!! Yes, in the Z34 you will have the 4t60e and it should have the second gear start partially pre-wired in. I would doubt that any car using an engine [and harness combo] not used in the GP would have the ability to have second gear start. I was wondering if second gear start could be added to the 95 ciera.... but F it.

oh sweeet!! hahaha i should really just fucking look for myself. and for me, i would just think that its the difference between electronically controlled and vacuum controlled? i honestly dont know. but thats my guess. ill look for the wire at the connector in the firewall tomorrow at work, or whenever i do the HUD. ill try get em both in on the same day. it shouldnt be a big deal, im just gonna glue the 2nd gear start button to the dash, and drill holes to mount the HUD (if they arent there cuz i got all the brackets and shit for it too) and the other piece from the bottom of the light switch will fit nicely under my dash (though the slider lever is broken off... gonna have to make something work for that)

okie dokie, i got my HUD wired up, and the switch installed, but i cant find one wire... the stupid check gauges wire... anyone know what colour it is? right now i have the HUD check gauges to the dashes SES light... good enough for me. lol oh yeah, another thing too. i cant find this blue wire in the harness entering the firewall... well i was told to look on the passenger side, but i cant for the life of me find it anywhere... i looked through the whole harness. so, if anyone knows where else this wire can be found (for 2nd gear start) please tell me!! please!!

Gosh there was a write up somewhere on the other wbody site that showed the exact pin on the ECU you could tap from to make it 2nd gear start. I think you just grounded it or somthing.
