Ok, cruising the NAPA website and found a listing for a heater core tube kit.  My question, will it fit for the 3.4?It is listed for the 3.1 but, looks just like the rusted out POS I put a foot and a half of rubber hose on and still fuckin' leaks a shit ton of coolant.

you mean the hose from the waterpump to the hear core that is rubber, then metal, then rubber again? My TGP had that rust out and leak. I went and coughed up the 80 bones and got it from the dealer. Im sure you could easily just yank it out and run rubber hose in its place.

Yeah, that's the one.  Probably what I am gonna do w/ mine.  But if it is the same part for the LQ1 I'll prob get that and shoot some undercoating on the pipe to keep the moisture offand keep it from rusting.  Maybe coat it in RTV Silicone and seal it off.

well, just remember how long the last one lasted. pretty much any sort of rust protection is going to triple its life if you ask me. i would think powdercoating it would be one of the best ideas.

I replaced mine with a rubber hose. That's also where I put my tank in-line coolant heater on my old '91
