After a decent amount of tedious work, here is the final product. Let me know what you think

That looks awesome. It would look TONS better if they made the lightbar bigger so it would line up!!

god, the hood and bumper gap on these cars is ridiculous.
badge looks mint. are you gonna paint the little silver diamond thingy on it? looks kinda bare without it.
I was thinking of trying to restore my STE badge but my ultimate goal is to loose the lightbar altgether and use the normal arrowhead.

Looks awesome, but what did it look like before?! Non-existent basically. Its hard to describe unless you've seen on. Basically the "ring" that says Special Touring Edition is gray and you can't read "Special Touring Edition". And, its pretty much impossible to find of these badges in mint condition so I can't even post a pic. I thought about doing the silver diamond thing, but I really like it how it is.

I'll definetly still have the fog lights, for one. find some pics of oldskoolgp's car, but imagine the front bumper with an actual panel there instead of just a painted over lightbar. that's the overall look I'm going for. I posted some photoshops in blue awhile back but I remember you hated them lol. Looks awesome, but what did it look like before?! And, its pretty much impossible to find of these badges in mint condition so I can't even post a pic. I found one in a yard once, must have been a '96. I swear it looked like it was NOS that was just put on. then I damaged it trying to get it off. damnit. should've just bought the whole lightbar but that yard's fucking anal rape.

I've always thrown around the though of doing something to the light bar in between the foglights. I probably never will, but since I've had the lightbar off several times lately, looking at the car with no lightbar gets me thinking.

Did you find one, or did you restore that one? I want to get one that looks that good on my STE, but the clear part was gone, and the only 2 spare badges that I have have the BLACK ring, and the STE one, it is kinda messed up. Did you fix yours, or what? This is what I have on my STE and I want it to look like yours. I also found out that if you use the light bar SUPPORT from a 1996, it will sit correctly. This is the ORIGINALY badge on my STE. This is the one that I have on there now. This is a backed up view so you can see how much more level the lightbar sits with the 1996 support. I need to adjust the passenger headlight, but not by much.

My STE badge did not the have the arrowhead in it, so I took the arrowhead off my spare light bar and painted the outside of it. I took the "Special Touring Edition" ring off my STE emblem and cleaned and then sanded both faces to 2000 grit. Then I tape it off and sprayed the back side of it with black spray paint to fill in the "Special Touring Edition". Then cleaned off/sanded off the black paint where I did not want it. Finally, I coat of clear acrylic enamel on the outside of the ring then glued it together with some clear silicone.
Hmm......a '96 headlight carrier/support will make it all line up. Interesting. It's such a pain in the ass though to replace. Maybe if I get a 2nd vehicle this summer I can do stuff like this.

My original light bar and headlights were yellowed, so I was going to replace them with the clear one on my 1996 GPSE MK parts car, but when I took my lightbar off, saw that the plastic support was CRACKED. That is why I swapped in the newer one, and it say a LOT more level. And like I said, I am using the 1996 headlights and lightbar as well, so I am not sure if they did any real changes to them that might cause it to sit different. There are some pics from when I first got the car. I did not really notice the differance, but looking at the pics, you can kinda see how the light bar sits LOWER in the older one. Kinda like how yours does.

Ah, so the back of the lightbar is what is different. The back of STE lightbar was cracked too, so I swapped it for the back of the '92 lightbar I had, hoping that would clear up the unevenness. Oh well, maybe this summer I'll get around to a good junkyard and find some better stuff.
