well.  there is no such thing as an 88-89 lumina - consequently no lumina came with the 2.8

the duke went till 92 i think then the 2.2 was 93-94

the 3100 started 93 in the cutlass, 95 in the lumina, and 94 in everyting else.  the lumina was still the old 3.1 MPFI in 94.

Yep, 92 was the last year for the 'Duke.

The 2.2 switched from TBI to MPFI in 92, so by the time it made it to the Luminas in 93 it already had MPFI.

The L27 has always been SFI, although the engine cover reads "Tuned Port Injection."  It became available in 90, BTW.

Gen 1.5 actually went until 2001 (Luminas were built for fleets only in 2000 and 2001.)  The 99 1/2 through 01 Luminas had the LG8 version of the 3100 (the one with the same top-end as the 3400.)  I would imagine the very last of the 99 Montes got the LG8 as well...

Did the 3.4DOHC change to SFI at some point, or what it MPFI the whole time??

i completely forgot about the 'LG8' being in the last 1.5 GEN Luminas.  was the 3100 'LG8' really available in some late '99 model Lumina/Monte Carlos?  i thought it started in '00.  also, did the '93 Cutlass Supreme become available with the 3100 'L82' mid year?  were there any 3.1 MPFI 'LH0' equipt '93 Cutlass Supremes?

good question on the LQ1 - i don't know anything about those engines.

anyone know the RPO codes or 8th VIN digit for the Iron Duke or 2.2L?

thanks again.

I've seen a few 99 Luminas on eBay before that had the LG8.  Not sure about the Montes, though...

Yeah, I thought the 2.2 was a 1 year only thing. VIN code "4" RPO = LN2

The 2.5 Iron Duke VIN was "R"

There's the 3.1 flex-fuel also in the 1993 Lumina. RPO L64, VIN W.

The LQ1 was multi port 91-93, and then SFI 94-97

OBD 1 91-93, OBD 1.5 94-95, OBD 2 96-97

90% CS's had LH0. Very few got the 3100's I've seen some late late '94 lumina's having the 3100, but that's super rare.
