okay guys. my 92 Grand Prix LE has a couple of issues besides the cluster. the hazard switch busted off the column, does the turn signal assy need to be changed as well (need to fix the brights as well,)
left turns requires holding down the lever
brights sometimes will not stay on

Turn signals on anything 93 and down w-body aren't as difficult to replace as the 94+ units. Big difference is the air bag.
The hazard button breaks on these all the time. I'm lucky I haven't had mine break so I'm not sure how to replace.
If you take your turn signal out of the steering column and clean it. You might get it to work. If not just replace the whole thing.
Either the contacts are dirty or worn away.
Things to check before you do that. Check all bulbs, put in a new flasher, and if it still doesn't work. Then you'll need to work on your TS switch.

I'm pretty sure they are separate. I don't think they depend on each other to work properly.

Well there ya go. Both my blinkers work fine, but my Hazard button only makes the right lights come on.

i dont see why you wouldnt order the part, then take your car apart and switch them out. if you need to, keep the button. if not, toss it.

If you can't find a new one for sale, then you might have to re-use your old switch. That's the joy of looking for 20 year old parts with these cars.

I was just doing the turn signal switch on our 89 regal, and YES the Hazard switch is part of the turn signal switch. Tearing things apart, I also discovered that the high bean switch is not part of the wiper switch at all, rather it's controlling a metal rod that pushes a on/off switch further down the steering column shaft. and yes, doing a turn signal switch on a 93 and older w-body is WAAAAAYYY easier than with the 94+ Saginaw steering column and airbag.

well, at this point, I have a heater core that is waiting to be installed, a RH quarter glass that needs to be replaced, turn signal/hazard switch to replace, and a couple of issues to correct, car seems to have a water leak that causes rainwater to leak into the cabin, only dry area is front passenger. when I get the oil changed next week (I do it every three months) I'll see if the mechanics can visually inspect the floorboards from underneath the car.
Mind you this car did see a lot of use and abuse in it's 20 years of existance, Christine is not the belle of the ball but she looks a lot better than she ever has, even the person that sold her to me brags that the car is looking & running better since he sold it to me.
My car started out as a rental car from Budget Rent-a-car in San Diego, Ca. and I believe was driven up here, and seen a lot of miles added to her clock. I am 6th owner of the car,
the 2nd owner bought her from the rental agency, got her here to KY, drove the snot out of her, (he was a salesman) then either gave or sold her to family, he had the car for a while, then traded her up for a pickup truck, then she was sold to a man who does music ministry through a local church, he drove the car for a bit, before she started to sit, then he gave her to the previous owner who used her to get back & forth from college (60 mi round trip 5 days a week for 2 years) then she could not take any more and quit on him, (he'd since graduated from school) she was sold to me and has basically been brought back from the dead with some TLC.
