Any of you guys got a solution to doors and windows that are frozen shut? Especially the doors, because those W coupe door handles are easy to break.

Any other tips for winterization? For example, before it got too cold I washed my car and lovingly applied a high quality long lasting wax for the winter. I also run RainX Deicer in place of my washer fluid. Neither one of those helped me when I came home from school to discover I had a flat yesterday though.

CHURCH!  They should've printed that in the owner's manual.

By 95 GM had figured out how to make a vertical W-Body coupe door handle that wouldn't break off every-other year, so it isn't too big a deal if you tug on the handle the entire time you're opening the door.

What you should do is grab up a can of Jig-A-Loo, spray some on a rag, open your doors, and wipe down the weatherstripping with it.  Also, clean off the mating surface on the door itself where the weatherstrip bumps against.

Other than that, you could always invest in a remote start system, and warm the car up for a few minutes before you climb in.  That'll thaw your doors out a bit.

I already have a remote start system. Previous owner put it in.

Us 4 door guys aren't that much better off, most of the door handles on my '92 are broken, and a few are broken now on the Euro. I actually busted the door handle right off the '92 last winter, which made me start driving around the euro, until I busted that door handle right off the car also. Man did it suck having to climb in through the passenger door of BOTH cars.

Only took a day before I was sick of that and ordered new handles.

You should do like my old man did when I was a kid.  The 'Rents had an 80 Chrysler "Crud-Oba" in which the drivers side outer door handle broke.  The old man tied one of those fishing "stringers" (ya know the small rope with the needle on the end that you run through a fishes gills and hang off the side of the boat) to the inside door handle and would crack the window open a tad and run the line outside the car and hide it under the cowl.  When it was time to enter the car, he'd fish (no pun intended) the line up the window back toward the back of the car and pull on it to gain entry into the car.

I think this was a good year or 2 before MacGyver debuted, so I can guarantee he didn't get the idea from him!!!

I think this went on for a few months until the passenger side handle broke as well, so he finally broke down and bought 2 new door handles...
