do you guys polish your exhaust tips? lol
well basically since i got my exhaust done ive neglected to care for my exhaust tips. they just keep getting yellower and yellower. and some black. lol but while at work today and working on my car for about 3 hours (on the clock too! hahaha) i noticed them and thought. YUCK!! so while talking to the shop foreman, he tells me about this metal polish he has.  wipe it on, let it dry and wipe it off.
well, i kinda scrubbed it in a little and used a pretty harsh rag. let it dry and sure as shit when i wiped it off them tips looked like brand new again!! the bottle had no label on it so ill ask him where he got it and what it is.

but incase youre curious.

i polished the spoiler, then removed it.
polished the trunk lid, then reinstalled the spoiler, while waiting for the 6 new 3157 red LED replacement bulbs for ALL of the rear signal and brake lights (except third brake light chmsl, or whatever you wanna call it) i checked and we couldnt find bulbs to replace those fawked up ones in there. i also have the outer most bulbs replaced with LED ones too. the inner two (four total) will be done on payday. lol i notice a difference in the electrical performance with them too. when i hit the brakes (to activate the stop lights) it drops 0.02 of a volt for as long as i hold it. (with the engine off and a single Optima Redtop battery) i forget what it was before, but i would actually hear it clicking the stereo, and it doesnt do that anymore either. LED bulbs FTW as far as im concerned. no adverse effects so far.

oh and i power polished the tail lights too!! haha tomorrow i plan on doing the passenger side (roof too) then on friday the drivers side. lol then sometime next week ill do the hood and front clip a little. i did it like 2 months ago really quickly but i want to re do it.
the spoiler and trunklid look brand new though. except where three people have touched it (none were me) lol

I want shiny tips! unfortunately, I don't know if mine were ever shiny and if they were then they are pretty far gone. I want to do something to make my car different than all the other green GPs out there (other than the trim inside). Seriously, yesterday while I was waiting to turn off of my street onto the main, one of the cars that passed was a GP that looked EXACTLY like mine. Same color, same wheels, spoiler, everything. The only difference I saw was they had painted the grille chrome. I thought about doing that briefly but I think it just looks goofy because there is virtually no other chrome on the car. On top of that, someone else on my street has a green GP that looks very similar to mine. I know the differences though: different wheels, he doesnt have a spoiler, his interior is tan cloth where as mine is black leather, he doesnt have a sunroof... oh, and I keep mine nicer. Its kind of annoying.

ill second the sanding and polishing, it will take you a while though, it would be faster to cut them off and to even buy some clamp on style ones for now till you can get them welded on. theres alot of choices out there and the prices are pretty reasonable

Well, thats down the road. Since I'm back in school now, my paychecks aren't ginormous (well, by teenage standards) anymore. I've got a LOT of things I need to do on my car before I look into doing anything more cosmetic. I get paid every two weeks and before March (when my inspection is due) I'll need new rotors and brakes for the rear (decided to hold off on them after last pay... unforeseen circumstances), rear struts (bought them, now I need to buy the mounts and have my mechanic put them on), a new set of tires, and a passenger side mirror.

Plus I'll be due for an oil change very soon. As of today I think I'm at 92,090 or so, and I'm due at 92,700

struts and mounts are easy dude! i had mine done (both sides) in about 45 mins! first timer too! theres a total of 4 bolts holding on either strut, and to get to therm you just take the wheel off. you'll save an assload of money on your car if you do the work yourself! -my whole exhaust cost me $300 installed from a friend though.
as for those cutty pipes, WOW!! those came out really nice! how long has it been since youve done them? how do they look now?

I know that but I don't think I have the proper equipment. I've got a floor jack and then every hand tool known to man (for cars). My dad was a mechanic and he said we didn't have the equipment. Its okay, I have a guy I trust to work on it. he does good work and is very reasonable. According to the little book he has, it estimates time to replace the rear struts on my car at 2.5 hours. I kind of find it hard to believe you did it in 45 mins, but, i dont know. Plus its the good feeling that if something falls off, its not my fault.

Preach it, brother!  I changed all 4 struts on my old 95 Regal with hand tools and a crappy floor jack.  You need to rent a special "W-Body Front Strut Removal" tool kit to change out the front strut cartridges, but once you have that, you can change out the front cartridges without jacking the car up off the ground!

In short, changing the struts on a 1G is a piece of cake.  There's nothing you could possibly screw up.  Just remember to take it in for an alignment directly afterword.

I purchased that stupid tool, only problem with it is that it won't work with the KYB's (too big).

I need to take mine out of the front of the Euro, they clunk like a mofo. I think I didn't get the cap back on quite right. Stupid tool.
