so I was curious which kit out there is actually worth the money.. I've heard the 3m is one of the better.

and then another question. on my lumina I'm trying to remove my headlight housing so I can polish it. but it seems to be tied down somewhere else.. do I have to unbolt the little star looking thing that adjusts the tilt of my lights?

no, just the simple ones you can see. sometimes it helps to take out the corner light and the grille and center lights because the headlight is behind the bumper cover a little. though it is possible to jimmy the light out all by itself. it just takes a bit of fighting. its kinda weird, my Z34 had lenses clearer than most of the cars on the lots i went to. they were almost brand new and came with the car... sp i dunno. haha have u checked the JY for better lenses? any lumina in your era will work

Did you get all of the lower bolts? I can get a headlight removed in under a minute. Please don't tell me you're using a "plug & play" HID kit.

dude, you dont need to remove the headlights to install HIDs, and arent like all the kits out there a plug n play kit? (with the exception that ive noticed they all have a plug wired backwards and it needs to be re-pinned to work.)

Im not taking off the headlights to install HID's. Im taking them off so i can restore them a little bit..

i think all HID's are plug and play, with the ballasts.. etc..

only seems to make sense, plug ballast in to wiring harness, plug light into ballast. if it wasnt plug and play what would you do if one component was to go bad?
or hes just implying its a bad idea for your ride? i dont know. lol

Do you carry a gun? You'll probably need one to keep the asshole you keep blinding from busting them out with a ball bat. Headlight housings made before HIDs came out aren't designed for them. There's no cutoff point to keep them from blinding on-coming traffic. They can also melt plastic housings.

i drive with my HID fogs on everywhere i go in the day, and headlights at night, plus fogs on the highway (for some raisin)
so far there is no melting in my housings. ive even left my fogs on for 4 hours one morning at work, and still went for lunch with no problems. lol

What he said. The only way to properly install HIDs is with a projector retrofit. Everyone that uses HID plug & play kits deserves to get hit in the scrotum with a rusty barbed wire baseball bat.

You're a perfect example. Every vehicle I own has spotlights on the front, and I have no problem using them to blind assholes like you biggrin

my HID fog lights arent as bright as most peoples day time running lights, and at night time, well... mine are aimed properly is all im gonna say wink but if you high beam me, you can expect i flash my highs too, and the initial pulse from HIDs firing up is brighter than the actual light itself, so... its all good.
did i mention i keep a 3' 1/2" drive torque wrench in my truck, within arms reach? should make a good fight against a baseball bat.
if you ask me, im one of the nicest guys out there with HIDs, and i feel like i need them because i do have a hard time seeing at night sometimes. damn weed causing cataracts. in all honesty, if you stare into anyones headlights thats coming on to you, youre the retard that deserves the scrotum mashing with the torque wrench... people that stare into lights shouldnt have kids anyway wink

The spotlights on my 9C1 are HIDs. You wanna talk about blinding... They turn roadsigns into retina-burning beams of pain.
