My black xlace are looking a little dull... I painted them 2 years ago and didn't put any clearcoat.  The polished aluminum is dull too but I dunno if I'll bother to clean them up or not.

Anyways I'd like to do something about the rims.  I want to spend as LITTLE as possible, since I have no mods planned for it anymore, just basic maintenance until I get a newer car (and I'm saving up for a sports car in a few years).

1.  Quick coat of black paint, possibly clearcoat too.
2.  Repaint them silver, clearcoat.
3. Repaint them original gold color, clearcoat.  (where would I find the gold paint??)

If/when I get rid of my car I might hold on to the x-lace (depending who I sell it to, or if I just trade it in) cause they should fit on a 2nd or 3rd gen w-body (which I might possibly get).  I really love those 2004+ GPs.

Dave, I say just repaint them black, clear coat, and call it done.. Wal Mart sells spraypaint for as little as 94 cents a can.. Same with CLearCoat..

If you dont keep them black, then the "Yea, I did the CBad/Dave mod on my crosslaces and they look tits" era will be over..

I love gold xlace, but they look SHITTY when they're old and chipped.  I don't think it would be easy to make them look like new again either (what paint color?? lol).

If I repolish the lip I will definatly clear the whole wheel, and I'd highly recommend everyone does it as well, cause it's a fucking chore to keep them looking nice.  I figure weekly polishing to keep them looking 100% (which I never did) and if you don't polish them often then it's all the more difficult to bring back the shine when they turn dull.
