lol yeah i shoulda been more specific.

breaking off torx ends... i used a t-60 and it didnt break, scuff or anything. it just rounded out the inside of the bolt. so now i have no idea what to do, i need this fixed. lol my brakes arent HORRIBLE i can probably prolong it another month or two, but i would like to have good brakes for the winter.

Well, why did you do that lol. You could just rip the little protector boots off the bolts and use a vice grip to turn out the bolts. Napa should also carry the new bolts and boots

ok, im just gonna torch the heads off then and turn the rest with whatever i can. i was putting a T60 on my 1/2" breaker bar, and proping a pry bar under the frame and on top of the breaker, then i stood on it and bounced. took 4 bounces and the teeth inside the head were GONE! lol the t60 however is FINE. so on monday at work, i take out the cutting torch and those bastards are getting blasted off and im gonna find some way to fix this problem. im really paranoid that im not gonna be able to turn the rest of the bolt though with pliers or vice grips

I rounded the bolts off on my old Lumina (well, the previous owner did) and I ended up slicing the caliper bracket apart (using a grinder with a cutoff wheel) to get the stubborn bolt off.

this may be the answer i do too. i just might replace just the pads and leave the rotors for now though, theyre still thick, and not gauged or cracked or anything. they look as good as the new ones! lol just with some rust inside and on the edges.

-do you guys replace your rotors EVERY time you do your brakes?

at $180 for the pair of em, i might just return em or save em for later at the least and just do the pads... but it couldnt hurt to try at work while the car is on a hoist to turn the torx bolts. shit i wont even take the wheel off unless i break something! haha

This is exactly what I did to finally replace my rotors.

HAHAHAHAHA 4' Snipe FTMFW!!! took my good ol torx socket, hammered it into my ones i haddent tried yet (drivers side) and put a 1/2" drive ratchet on that, then a 4' snipe. didnt really take too much lifting force to pop em loose.(but BANG!!! loud man, loud) then, the passenger side... hammered them in again, this time i hammered the SHIT out of them because i figured i had rounded them off, the torx key slipped once on both of them. but hammering it in, using the same set up as before, i had to put ALL my weight on the snipe. my feet were off the ground and SLOWLY it let go. im about 160lbs, 155 on a light day or after a good hangover. haha  but seriously, they were quieter and just let go so friggin slowly!

next stupid thing?? one thin rotor, one thick.... some asshole replaced just one side at some point in time!!! what kind of fucking idiot does that? (if any of you do it, im not calling you an idiot) i just disagree with this to the end of all time. this is a major part of how the car handles. if one side is stopping better than the other this could cause HUGE problems in the snow/ice. (IMO) and i think its just plain retarded not to do both at once.
-im glad i decided to change the rotors though after i saw one cheap one, one good one! lol the cheap one almost feels like its made of stamped metal! lol not much lighter, but you can notice it.
