So my regal makes some bad clank/clunking noise from the back coming out of parking lots ect. I jacked it up, and the little rubber blocks that go under each side of the leaf, one is gone, and the other has some rubber remains, lol.....do those cause lots of noise when there gone? I have yet to work on mono leaf suspension, how do i go about replacing those little pads.

mostly a creaking noise, mine never made a clunk. they take 10 mins to put in though so its not a big deal.

i just used a couple C-clamps and a chunk of steel to lift the monoleaf off the hub dealy while that end of the car was off the ground (i had a hoist and a rack jack so the whole ass of the car was up) but i still had rubber left on mine and had to use a prybar and a mallet to get them out and off. then figuring out that the new ones didnt go on the monoleaf but on the hub-dealie. lol i was pretty worried at first, thought i got the wrong part.

I have those pucks from NAPA on both of my cars, and I don't like them. They're wearing away the monoleaf!

Clunking sounds like a strut mount, have you checked them?

A clunk sound is going to be a strut. The mono leaf with out pads like to creak a lot.

Both my cars have the NAPA mono leaf pads in them. I haven't seen any ill affects. I'd recommend replacing your original ones with the plastic ones.

How many miles have you put on your pucks? I have about 40k on them and I'm missing roughly 1/2 of my monoleaf's thickness

No where near 40k miles on mine.

The ones in the GP have 15k on them now. I'll look for problems down the road.

hmm ic. well i the rear end is nice and firm, with no sag. neither of the struts are leaking. Do the rears actually have a mount that can go bad? do those trailering arms make any noise? i forgot to even look at those.

Yes, the rear struts do have mounts and those can be bad. Not sure if your car has a lot of rust. Check the top of your strut towers for rust.

Not sure if trailing arms would make noise, but I've seen some snap in half, others I've seen the bushings fail and they rattle around.

If you think yours need to replaced get some Dorman ones from a local parts store. They are boxed in and are better than getting a factory replacement.

had my car up on the lift yesterday... Here's a picture of the pucks and the monoleaf after 40k miles...
As you can see, about 1/2 of the tip is worn off, I'd say in about 10-20k the monoleaf will need to be replaced completely.

That really sucks. I hate replacing the mono leaf on these cars.

I may be doing the WHOLE rear suspension subframe in the next couple of weeks due to rust. Giving the car to my parents now that I got the SuperJew but I want to make sure the rear suspension doesn't fail catastrophically.

Those are the pucks from NAPA that everyone talks up. Apparently nobody that installs them puts a lot of mileage on their car or ever has it up on a lift.

I checked my GPs pucks has about 25k miles on them now and they look fine so far. I'll have to keep one eye on them. I don't think I'll be DDing that car anymore. I stored in my Grandpas barn early this spring. I might take it out and fix it up this summer.

With the cutty getting only 500~ or so miles a year they will last forever.
