Hey Taylor,

Sorry to bring up and old thread, but I'm going to be doing this sometime this summer in my car, and want to know what I'm getting into.

I see understand what you need to do to the parking brake in the cab, but question is regarding the cables.  If I do a 94+ rear brake upgrade, and use all the cables and pedal assembly from a 94+ everything should bolt right in correct?  Except using a dremel tool around where the cable goes through the floor??

Just want to double check!  Thanks for help!

so far, YES, the only modifying I had to do to my car was where the cable passes through the body from the interior to the exterior.

Before you get the dremel out and start cutting, check out to see if you even need to do that.  It could be that my car was like that because it was an older one.  Mine is a 1988, so it might have had something to do with it being older.

Taylor, I looked at a 2000 impala booster at a yard...  it appears to be the same diamter as the 88-93 booster, but longer.   Just a thought, to see if that might be a suitable upgrade for your 88, and other cars......   thoughts?

i don't know when they went to the larger booster, but in all honesty, the brakes in my 1988 are better than just about any other w-body out there.  My friends in New York were REALLY suprised when they felt them.  They grip good, and the pedal is nice and high, and firm, without being spongy or soft.

I would have to measure the impala booster to be sure.  My 1988 has a weird lip on the firewall that prevents the newer 1994-1996 booster from working,  For the Impala, it would need to be checked to see if it will even it on my firewall.
