Now it looks as if its sky jacking in the rear. Seriously I haven't seen a W body this high in the rear in a long time. My car has some serious ass lift. Even when towing a trailer loaded down and a trunk packed with over 500lbs of tools (seriously) and three 5 ton hydraulic floor lifts on the back floor. When it's empty, it's just ridiculous.

Holy F thats crazy!!! hahaha i just did my rear struts too!! lol cost me $130 a side for monroe sensatracks or some shit... i just ordered them from Napa and got them billed to my shop. i thought they would be harder to change than they were... mind you we had a hoist with a rack jack. not much else needed other than tools. lol got paid on company time to do it too! (anything mechanical is considered experience at my shop!) but mine only raise up about an inch or so. i think i need to do some of the bushings in the back too, it tends to creak and moan a little still.

Did you replace the upper strut mounts? That's a must if you're replacing the struts. Have you checked out the rubber isolator bushings on the ends of your rear monoleaf? MOOG sells a set of polyethelene "pucks" that drop in place of the old rubber isolator bushings. I tried a set on my Regal, and they stopped the squeaking and clanging that the monoleaf was making as it rubbed up against the nuckle (the rubber pads were worn down next to nothing.)

I did it the easy way. Took literally 5 minutes to scrape the old pads off and drop in the new pucks.

I just used a small floor jack and some jackstands when I put the pucks in both cars. The hardest part was getting that rubber shit off the monoleaf ends. It was like melted on there.

The figure 8? I lost one of mine when my strut mount let loose, but my Regal did have them at one time. I had my car up on jackstands and put my floor jack and a block of wood under each end of the spring to lift it up enough to get the old pad out and drop the new puck in...

yeah those are exactly it... whats the point of them? They do have a purpose, but I forget what it was. I never put them back in because I didn't have the special tool and no matter how hard I tried I couldn't get those damn things back in.
